Re: Tormach 770MX Z Axis Clearance

These pictures are on my 770M+. My fixture plate is .7” thick so add that to the tape readings. Id say 14.5” from table to spindle nose, 12.7 to face of a TTS set screw holder. Hope it’s some help
  3. Re: Tormach 440 PathPilot Start Up...not going so well

Possibly check that the spindle cover switch is working and adjusted that it detects the door is closed, the spindle will not start with the cover open.

With machines being out of stock it may help with used prices but I’d say starting asking at 80% of new price would be fair, you could always drop some if no one grabs it up.. sounds like what your...

  6. Re: Looking for help with tapping steel with 1100 and Tormach Tension/Comp head

I’ve Tapped 100’s of 1/4-20 with this $30 threadmill, nice tool, though it’s only necked to go .5, might have to finish last few threads with tap.

I get why this is a big issue, losing any functionality affects workflow and capabilities may be affected by losing features , but there were options before 2013, when Fusion was introduced, and...

  9. Re: Buying an 1100 MX from Tormach & 15L Slant Lathe.

I have a 770M+ with flood coolant, & for less than $50 you can add a hose and nozzle to the coolant system, there is already aTee in the system to connect the hose and a simple garden sprayer for a...

Tormach sells the skimmer as an accessory but I think they are just re-selling the skimpy oil skimmers.

That is a very different looking collet, I don’t think that the straight shaft dia is critical or that it even contacts the spindle walls ( though I have not checked to see if that is true) the taper...

    Re: Tormach PCNC Question

I had a 440, but not a mini pallet, but looking at the dimensions of the pallet system it would definitely fit, & a 6x10 pallet would match the 440 work area

Congrats !! having one less payment is always a good thing.

I agree with you about PathPilot and Fusion 360, I don't think I would have taken the leap into CNC without either of them.
