I am hoping to upgrade to these servo drives but I need to get more info on the configuration software for the j2s drives and how that software interfaces to the PCM, is it serial?

That Makes sense, I guess I have more education on steppers than servos, is a 400w servo a strong servo? It sounds a bit wimpy to me but I have never seen what a 400w servo will do.

Sorry, I'm may be a duo-duo but how do I know what my target tork Is?
I can do the math to find gear ratios, pulley sizes, ect. But I have know Idea how to come up with the target tork it will take...

I have the same question really, I have an old thermwood router, and some put some small nema 34 steppers on it. As this is a large, heavy 5'x10' CNC, massive steel moving gantry, those poor steppers...

I have a large thermwood c50 CNC and someone put to small steppers on it, and I would like to go back to servos, but I need some input on what where to start on sizing them.
