  1. Re: Tie 220v VFD into dryer line - with a switch?

Depends how many amps the Dryer Breaker is, if you can use that circuit, 2.2Kw spindle needs a minimum of 25amp supply so you are looking at a 30A Breaker and wiring to match

Re: need to reverse one motor direction.

It is very unlikely that you have to change any wiring, this is normally done in the control software, basically you are just changing active high or active low to change the motor direction

Re: need to reverse one motor direction.

    In Mach4 Config

Be for you connect the 2 motors to the machine, make sure they are running in opposite directions

You just reverse the motor direction in the control software

    Re: Bent X ball screw?

Looking at the Ballscrew it is not bad enough to cause your stalling unless you are getting raking from one side to the other with the Gantry

Your electrical strip connector, what is that all...

    Re: Is there a VFD-kit for series1?

You have to custom make them, I don't think you will find anything close to these, they are not hard to make and you can get the spec's for the belt profile a ( J ) type Belt is what most use, you...

    Re: Is there a VFD-kit for series1?

3Hp was standard, some had 5Hp A Poly-V belt is the best for these belt drives here is another one that was done by another Bridgeport user, it has the same head as you have, I think this was a 2:1...

    Re: Nichrome ribbon wire question

You don't bend the wire to the shape of the profile, that is what a CNC is for the axes move around the wire and cut out the shape you want, or the wire moves and the block is stationery both ways...
  8. Re: Electrical Question - 1 Higher Amp Power Point for 6 Machines

They don't have anything like 150/200amp supply in Australia
  9. Re: Electrical Question - 1 Higher Amp Power Point for 6 Machines

It sounds like you need more than one 20A circuit added, Power Boards are never a good thing as it is easy to have overload on your main supply circuit

    Re: Is there a VFD-kit for series1?

Your machine does not have the original main spindle motor, so not sure what you have, for best results it's a good Idea to use a 2 pulley system where you can change the Ratio around 1.5 : 1 in both...
  11. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

PD007 is the Starting Frequency for ramping up to speed

The Intermediate parameter's are related to the torque of the motor being driven, PD006 and PD009 are related and can be adjust while...
  12. Re: How to make a thin copper plate COMPLETELY flat/level?

The material would be something like Delrin it is just acting as a retainer, the steel part on top is just adding weight to it, so yes the plastic wears away over time and would be replaced, it all...
  13. Re: How to make a thin copper plate COMPLETELY flat/level?

Anything like this would be lapped, which can be done on a lapping machine or by hand
  14. Re: Lot of experiments with genuine Huanyang VFDs

You are not making it very clear how or what you are doing, if you are attaching the Ground wire to the mount then that is fine, you have a Ground wire, the only problem that can affect some that do...
  15. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

I don't think changing the VFD will make much difference you could try though, the spindle sounds about average for these low cost spindles

PD041 up to 12 but check for the spindle getting hot...
  16. Re: Lot of experiments with genuine Huanyang VFDs

Yes that is how it is done and what we have been posting, using the correct cable for the job is easier

This would not pass code as there needs to be a fiscal Ground wire, not matter how you...
  17. Re: Lot of experiments with genuine Huanyang VFDs

They do make some 4Pole but most are lower RPM if they are 4Pole and 24,000RPM then you need a 800Hz VFD Drive and the Huanyang VFD he is talking about only go up to 400Hz so can only run a 2Pole...

Show me once that I have defended a Chinese Spindle they are what they are Quality is what you get for a cheap Spindle like this, the only good thing is how they have transformed the Hobby router...

Re: Burnt winding in a servo

Motor Regen and no Braking Resistor, if your servo motor is working hard the regen can stress the windings, if your servo motors work hard then a Braking Resistor can prevent bunt windings
  20. Re: Lot of experiments with genuine Huanyang VFDs

Most on the Zone that use these spindles and VFD Drives wire them correctly and to code, showing and saying it is ok to do it like this is very irresponsible

What you do nobody cares, it's what...
  21. Re: Lot of experiments with genuine Huanyang VFDs

Nice write up except for some electrical code violations , which I would not advise anyone to wire a VFD Drive and Spindle like this

For 120v this input wiring is correct but for 240v it is not...
  22. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

Good Choice of Filter and cost is ok as well

Does the spindle only make that sound when at the 12,000 RPM range
  23. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

SCHAFFNER FN2020-30-08 EMI POWER LINE FILTER, 30A, 870UA

It's more money but most suppliers have them, this may not make any noticeable difference to how the spindle is running but will help...
  24. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

30A is closer to what you need make sure it is EMI Rated, just in your web browser type 30A EMI Power Filter and you will get many choices
  25. Re: Buying NEW VFD for 2.2KW Spindle (OLD VFD died)

Are you using a EMI Rated Power Filter on the input power and is the Grounding for the spindle correct, Spindle 4th Pin to VFD Drive Shielding also Grounded at Both Ends, do you have a good 240v...
