  2. Re: Lubrication for a ball screw CNC machine

No the machine has been great . Its a Bionica Promill https://www.bionicasystems.com/promill/

I am getting a 2nd machine (Though probably not from them) but it has been great. Unfortunately they...
  3. Re: Lubrication for a ball screw CNC machine

The lubricant supplied has nearly run out. It was in a large syringe. Light brown grease. I was told to apply to the screw rods X Y Z axis and the 2 rails where the gantry sides up and down the...
  4. Re: Lubrication for a ball screw CNC machine

Ok. after much research, this one seems to be ideal, as I don't want to buy large grease gun tubes,

    Is it a good choice?

  5. Re: Lubrication for a ball screw CNC machine

Thank you. But isn't there a supplier that sells this in smaller tubes? I'm surprised how many different products people claim work. On youtube a CNC maker is recommending the one I mentioned in the...
  6. Lubrication for a ball screw CNC machine

One of my CNC machines was supplied with a syringe full of quite thick grease, which I feel is not really penetrating into the bearings well.

I read that 3 in 1 PTFE was a good lubricant for the...

    Re: Clicking on Y axis

    Thanks for reply.

Its a ball screw. I have zeroed the noise to either the ballscrew (the part connecting to the spindle holder) or the travel rail above or below.

I made a vid but its too...

    Clicking on Y axis

Noticed the Y axis is clicking/ticking on my backup CNC machine.

Odd thing is, it only does it going left. Its been well lubricated.

    Any ideas?

    Re: Acrylic and metal Adhesive?

    Thanks for reply.

No, they have to drop on. They are not proper rivets. Just screws that have a rivet like head.

    Acrylic and metal Adhesive?

I have cut out some stars and moon shapes out of Acrylic and want to glue in some metal rivets/studs into cut holes.

I have MACH3 running on laptop, I'm not sure what the controller box is called. Everything else is running fine. It cuts voids, shapes spot on. But on a one way a - b slot, it ramps as it leaves the...

Re: V Carve Pro unwanted ramps on slots

I'm not sure. From the 3D preview it looks like its cutting normal. There doesn't seem to be an option in v-carve tool path options for anything which would cause it as its all greyed out as the slot...

V Carve Pro unwanted ramps on slots

    Hi

Im having trouble cutting slots in V Carve pro.

When I cut a simple L shaped slot, it plunges ok, but when it gets to the end, instead of leaving the slot squarely upwards, it ramps on exit...

    Thanks for your answers ger21.

Does that apply to holes too? it only plunges to start the cut and a few holes here and there.

I'm cutting at approx 24,000rpm (Kress 1050) 3mm passes in mdf...

    Re: Ideal bit for M D F/Veneer?

Oh ok. I don't think my spindle is powerful enough for one pass in 10mm. I'm doing 3mm passes with 2 fluted uppercut. I saw a vid on youtube where they compared bits and a straight flute seemed the...

    Ideal bit for M D F/Veneer?

Seen lots of debates about which is the best bit for mdf.

I find 2 flute 6mm upper cut reliable, but leaves a fuzzy edge at the top edge. (And I hear Down cut does same to bottom edge).

    Is a...

It went off course and I hit emergency stop. I then manually raised the Z Axis, then pressed continue in MACH 3 and it seemed to go back to its proper course.
