Due to health issues I'm going to sell my stock DM-3000 that's in good condition.
The original control system works but I was going to convert it to either Masso or Acorn but cannot do it now.
I'll...
Simulator is sold

I cannot figure out how to post in the classifieds so I'll post a note here.
I have a simulator that's is excellent condition that I no longer need.
I'd like to get around $500 for it and If...
Just ordered one - Looking forward to retrofitting a small mill using the Acorn and Clear Path servos.
Update on Acorn's release?
Does anyone know what the Patriot weighs? Cannot find much info on it on the internet.
Al you hit the nail on the head......
The INI file for a MicroTurn with encoder has the following config. setting:

Hi Al,
Some more research and I've finally found the answers.. :wee:

I just need to confirm the encoders CPR before I make an expensive mistake - :)
Thanks for the reply..
I have been in touch with Denford and they wanted £778 ($1,255) for the encoder which is far too much for a "hobby" machine. I'm using their VR software (licensed to me) and...
Does anyone here have one of the Denford Microturn lathes with a spindle encoder? If so, do you know who made the encoder? Model #?, any specs?
Thanks in advance
Here is a schematic that Marris posted on the Yahoo Gecko Group geckodrive : Geckodrive back in 2008. Probably out of date but I suspect the I/O is still similar. Anyway, hope this is of some help to...
I cannot help you as I never used the original controller because it wasn't working when I bought the 810.
Take a look at the G540 manual that you can find here:
Support
Have the inputs configurable so they can be either a ground (as they are now) or a positive DC voltage. Let user select input type for each input with a shunt or dip switch.
Why not leave the G540 as-is for now and get the GM540 finished and in production? :D
(GM) Product Line Feature Request
Like this??
Maybe this will help you - It's a simple engraver re-wired to use a G540 controller.
Michael,
With machine connected to PC, MACH3 running, and motors at idle there is no noise at all from the motors.
Voltage measurements are taken with machine in the same state.
Z Axis DB9...
Please share with us where you bought the J-Cut so someone else will not make the same mistake - Thanks
As Pplug said, they are probably the old round case Oriental Motor Vexta series PH268 NEMA23 size motors with a double ended shaft.
There were several models rated 83.3 or 125 Oz In torque and...
1) Change DB9’s to plug-able screw terminal connectors or as an alternative offer an accessory daughter board with mating DB9's with motor connections brought out to screw terminals.
2) Offer...
Retrofit is finished - Now it's time to learn MACH3.......
Here are a couple of photos of the final wiring and a PDF file of the schematic.
I've gotten a little more accomplished - Mounted the Y+ and Y- limits and the Y+ Home switches. They were mounted on the right Y axis linear slide cover and there needs to be another mounting screw...
Here are some photos of the retrofit to date. As you can see, this is still very much a work in progress. :D
Limits for the X axis are installed and the original +Z limit is being reused. You may...
I’m converting my NHI810 to get rid of the original electronics and replacing them with a Gecko G540 controller. I’m also replacing the original stepper motors and power supply. I’ll post some photos...
