Isn't a macro a "program"? And some thing you have to write your self as Mach doesn't offer any help? I guess I need to look into Macros further and see what I need to do to get my changer working....
Larry please post pictures of you machine so we can see what you have which will allow us to help you better. Don't worry about the wiring if you take it one step at a time it's pretty easy.

Mark, what type of machine are you trying to retrofit? Is it already set up for CNC or are you converting a manual machine?
I also have the prolight 1000 lathe and used Leadshine Digital...
More pictures.
The chuck has the 2 1/4" X 8 back plate for mounting.
Im sure your right about the 5C chuck and it will work just fine. I have never used one and I'm sure it will be ok.
As for the tool post the AXA size should be good for that lathe. I wouldn't...
I have a 4" air operated chuck that I would trade you for the collet draw bar if your interested. The jaws open and close with air and has a 2 1/4" back plate on it so it screws right onto your...
You don't need that 5C collet chuck to mount a standard chuck to your lathe. I think that could cause extra run out and possibly be too heavy for the spindle. I'm not positive, but I don't think...
Yeah it's working great and is very accurate! I really like the ball screws that it has. It can keep .0005 all day long. I turn mostly aluminum on it and take around .030 to .040 off per pass at a...
NEVERMIND! I found the problem!!! I realized that I was using a 1" micrometer to measure parts under an inch and they were spot on, but used a calipers to measure the larger parts and they were way...
I have a prolight 3000 CNC lathe and last summer I rewired it with new motors, stepper drives and a breakout board. Everything seems to be running fine, but I'm having issues keeping the lathe...
I have a Prolight 3000 lathe and ended up replacing the old drivers with new stepper drives and a breakout board. This way I can run Mach or any other parallel port controller software instead of...
Steve, I sent out some info for you with lots of pictures, hope that helps.
Doug, I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with your Rapier stepper drive and what the SP wire is for. Do you have any...
Here is a copy of the schematics. I can send you a larger picture if you give my an address to E mail it to.
Dale P.
Can you post a picture? What brand of drive did you replace the old one with ?
Are you using the original software to run the mill?
Dale P.
Sorry but I don't. I do have schematics for the stepper drives though.
What do you need the schematics for the whole machine for?
Dale P.
Steve, I sent you a Pm and will be more than happy to help you get these machines up and running again.
The big question is what do you need the machine to do and how much do you want to spend...
Well I took the time to trace the wires and figured it out. The large resistor is used to slow down the spindle when it is shut off. The relay adds the breaking resistor to the circuit when the...
I tore into the lathe this weekend and found a strange set up for the spindle speed control and am not sure what it's for. There is a large resistor next to the speed control and it's hooked up to a...
Hello, I just picked up a used Prolight 3000 lathe for $500. It's missing the control box but I'm kinda glad it's gone because I probably would have converted it any way to use Mach 3 instead of the...
Hey Gerry,
Shoot me your E-mail address and I will send you some more info on your machine. I'm almost done with a write up on how to retrofit these machines by reusing most of the...
????????
What are you trying to do with this flywheel / transformer combo?
Are you saying you need a transformer to power your machine and you also want to use the weight of the transformer...
Hey guys, I while ago I read some where that you shouldn't use a voltage regulator on a power supply for stepper motors. Is this true???
I have a really nice power supply that puts out 46.5...
Steve, If you don't have the original software and card to drive it you have to retrofit it to work with windows based software such as Mach 3. It can be a easy fix, Shoot me your E-mail address...
I'm almost done with a mill retrofit. Feel free to shoot me an E-Mail for questions and picts.

I bought a used D&M mill a while back and like many others I'm having a hard time getting info on the machine. I'm in the process of converting it to run with Mach 3 instead of the original software...
I just got a private E-Mail from Cecil. He said the site wouldn't allow him to post so I'm going to relay the message.
"The inputs are D(direction), C(clock or step) and +5v. The fourth wire...
Yes, I'm looking for the info too. I want to add a breakout board to the system and ditch the original mother board. The problem is the original stepper drives use four wires to hook up instead of...
I would love to get a copy of the schematics. I have a D&M 4 mill and want to add a standard breakout board, but am having trouble with wiring it. The original stepper drivers use four wires for...
