I acquired a Compucarve/carve wright from a friend, it is an older one.
I talked with the company and they said that I can send it in to upgrade a lot on it.
I did searches online about them but...

My compound was not that bad..... still took off a lot of the high spots,the cross slide on the other hand....:eek:
I followed the instructions on the link I gave and in the Cross slide action...

I forgot to mention in the list of things I did to my 9x20 is that I lapped the cross slide and compound. This helped out greatly........... but took forever:(
This is how I came across the metal...

I am using 3/8 and smaller..... I am ordering a mill soon, and then I will mill down the top of the compound to have full use of the tool height....

I will try the washer.... I tightened the nut but that just made the cross slide harder to move.... I am going to do the bearing mod to both the cross slide and the compound but that does not help...

I have been searching and I have not found a mod or a replacement for the stock graduated dials on the cross slide hand wheel or the compound hand wheel...

I have been looking for information on machining the 5c collets, but haven't been able to find info, has anyone here machined these?
is there a special way to do this certain steps i should take so...

nice......... I been searching but the only thins i am finding are dimond wire saws..... yea cannot justify $4000 for cutting metal in half...... or a ring saw....
