Transfer all the chips that plug into sockets. I just did this on my 3m not long ago. You may have to do the procedure to reactivate your drip feed chips again.

Ok in the book I found diagnostic number 802 says it displays the position deviation amount for the z axis. Does this sound like what I should be looking for?

Would it work ok to just stick a pin in the back of the connector at spot 29 and use a jumper wire from the pin to ground?

Do I need to remove that wire from the plug and plug it back in then find some way of accessing the pin on the board under the plug to ground it?
