    Unstable system.

So I have had my machine running with a Gecko g540 + ESS + Mach4 settup for a while now.
The last ting I did to ensure stability, was to get a CAT6 isolated ethernet cable, with isolated adaptors,...

Vacuum Table Materials (What to use)

Hi,I have seen some machines with combined T-slot and vacuum table.

My machine has T slots from the factory and with some modifications I can make gaskit style vacuum table between the T slots....
  4. How to know if Stepper motor and Stepper driver is compatible.

    Hello,

I have a Chinese laser cutter that can only be operated via USB to Corel Laser.
So I am considering making a conversion to Ruida controller.

My problem so far is that I cannot find a...
  5. Re: Goal; a working post processor for Fusion 360 to Mach4

    I figured it out.
Fair and tidy to let you know I guess.

I flipped the Z axis back.

What now applies is the settings as shown in the attachements.

  6. Goal; a working post processor for Fusion 360 to Mach4

Of course there is already one in Fusion 360s Library.

However, my Mach4 setup+machine has problems with the initial codes.
If I copy the g-codes into mdi, from where the actual movements...

Re: How to get spindle pwm to work

You might be right about the Ground / Erarth. By terminated do you mean connected directly to the ground terminal of the ICE socket?
I did it like this because i didn't want 2 cable shoes on the...

So, I believe that all wiring is allredy correct. The gecko +ESS+Mach4 was a change to an allredy working machine Meaning the VFD is allredy programmed and adjusted for the spindle. The Spindle has...

Re: How to get spindle pwm to work

    VFD is a Chinese DZB100Series
I do not think the wiring or VFD programming is the problem, But I have attached the pages from the manual where the parameters F1-00 and F1-01 shows. These are both...

How to get spindle pwm to work

    Hi,

I am trying to get spindle pwm to work.

    I have a Warp9 ESS and a G540 Bob.

What works so far is that by flipping the "Active High/Low" at Pin17 which controls VFD FWD via a Relay, I can...

Thank you. Ive done it. Now its time for the soft limits.
It seems that it is only the soft limits that prevent the axis from crashing when jogging, thats true for the opposit end of the home...
  15. Re: Stepper motors not stopping when Home switches trip

    Actually. It works.

When hitting "Ref All Home", It homes nicely.

In my old system however, Both home switches and soft limits would prevent me from jogging until the end of the axis and...
  16. Stepper motors not stopping when Home switches trip

    Hello!

I just got my Home switches to work with G540 and Warp9 ESS.

In Mach4 Diagnostics tab, X Home, Y Home and Z Home individually lights up, when their respective NPN sensors are tripped. ...
  17. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

Ok. Finally the switches are working.

Now each axis lights up separately in Mach4 when ever triggered,

The solution now is making use of this little step-down: Se attachment 484666

    It is...

So from the factory, the brown wires from all 3 sensors were soldered together, and blue wires from all 3 sensors were also soldered together, the only wires kept separate was the black ones, which...
  19. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

    Ok,

So far the result I got as that all sensors are trigged if one is trigged. Then I probably did something wrong. Either in Mach 4 but most likely in the wiring.

    I found the attached wiring...
  20. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

Now my switches give the following result, one single switch will trip all 3 axis in Mach4. And this happens with the following connections:

Blue wire from all individual switches to negativ...
  21. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

I stil have an issue, and I have to determine if this is due to wrong wiring or wrong setup in Mach4.

No matter which of the NPN's I test with a peace of metal, Mach4 tells me that: "Home switch...
  22. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

Sure, I do. And according to this manual + my understanding of it the gecko does not provide anything that would be used to power a 10-30v NPN.
It just would not surprise me if there was such...

Re: Mach4 G540 and Warp9 ESS Charge pump.

    Thank you Peter,
It was resolved when I used the Mach4 profile named "ESS G540 VFD.m4prof" provided on the Warp9 website for the Gecko540.

Yes, I guess i just assumed that a charge pump signal should be in place.

    Mach4 G540 and Warp9 ESS Charge pump.

I just seek some general start up advice.

    Just to mention one...

The fact is that in my cnc, a fairly inexpensive chinese router, the elecronics concisted of: 40v powesupply, 5v

  27. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

Sorry my bad. I ment NPN, I have NPN switches.
  28. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

Hmm that doesn't sound to good though.. but I do not, at least not directly. only the DC 5V plus terminal is in use. The DC 5V minus terminal is without a wire.
  29. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

    Meaning it couldn't be PNP?
Is that because + goes inn to the device and determines the voltage and, - goes out of the device and, and also is connected with the G540?
In other words, if it was...
  30. Re: How to use active proximity home switches with the G540?

    No, separate supply's.
    The G540 is pwered by a 45 V supply.
The NPN's are power by a 5V supply (...that should have ben over 10 V ideally).

I did what you told me initially and it worked. ...
