Racks were purchased from Fineline Automation...They fit onto the extrusions perfectly..I am thinking of spacing them 1/8" off the extrusions with a 1/8" x 3/4" aluminum strip...to allow more pinion...

Just a 2.2 kw (3 hp) motor and VFD will fit on any size machine..I see they also make 4 kw spindle, water or air cooled..I will probably move up to the larger size in a few months ..
They are n.o. NPN...I have them hooked to small N.O. Relays and then into my mp3000 bob (candcnc.com).
Work perfect and very accurate . Bought them on fleabay.

Use a motor and reduction on each side.....Check out CNC Router parts nema 34 low induction steppers and 3.2to1 pro reduction drives they can output over 600 pounds push!! ..

The new updated pro spindles arrived Sat. and I installed them..running very smooth!!..

The leadshine stepper drives are amazing stepper drives I have (4) AM882 drives on my CNC Router Parts 4896 build...and they drive the 960 oz-in nema 34 motors with no problems....I was going to go...
CNCROUTERPARTS.com has an great design...the new Pro model was just released......
I contacted Ahern at CNCRP and they are sending replacement spindles with the updated design...hardened shaft and oilite bearings.....

As far as Nema 34 stepper heating..I have the Digital Leadshine AM882 drives..they are amazing!!....driving CNCRP 960 motors...Even when running back and forth full travel several times at 1000 ipm...
I noticed a noise from my X axis prime drive today..my 4896 was finished not long ago and has maybe an hour or so of run time...I removed the shoulder bolt and it looks the same..chewed up...my belt...
I purchased 5 prox switches on ebay cheap and they have been working perfect..I used a spring to keep in place but allow the gantry to hit the stops without damaging the sensors..works great!

Have made a few signs getting used to the software and machine....everything has been working...
