Hi everyone. I am getting ready to buy a CadCam package and have it narrowed down between CamWorks and Cimatron. Has anyone used both and have any recommendations? I use Mastercam now but can see...
I am brand new to wire EDM and just getting started learning this technology. I have ran CNC mills so am comfortable with the Gcode geometry programming but am completely unfimiliar with the...
The program ran good. The #127 length gets close to running out of the guide bushing but I carefully measured everything and it works good. For the unknown material I think I'll try hacdlux's advice....
Here is a picture of the screw. After I changed material to 303 stainless the part ran awesome. I will have to try a different grade insert so I can use up the other material I have. As far as the...
I am cutting 303 SS. The threading insert is a NTK ZM3. I am using a G32 and steping down .002 per side at a time.
I am a machine tool instructor and recieved some donated stainless that I am unsure what type it is. I am trying to cut a segmented thread. I tested my program in brass and it ran great. I switched...
The part I am trying to machine looks like a very simple Swiss part. The problem is the material is .500 diameter with a hardness of 42 Rc and gets machined down to a very small diameter. I had ok...
Thanks for all the advice. I gave up on the G71. The reason I didn't wan't to long hand it was because I had several segments and thought the G71 would save some time. I ended up and roughed it out...
Thanks for trying to help. The first G71 line sets the depth of cut with the U.040. The S1=#102 defines the spindle RPM for spindle one. This is unique to the Citizen Swiss machines.
I tried putting the Z in line N1000 and got the same results.
I am running a Citizen A20 with a Fanuc control and am trying to get a G71 stock removal cycle to work and am having trouble with it. The part has a radius on the end which transitions into a 8.5...

For threading on Citizen Swiss machinining centers, what is the best infeed angle to use? The book says 00,29,30,60,and 80 are all valid angle. Is one better than the rest?
Thank UK-Engineer,
I ended up writing the programs like you had suggested and it worked good. The sub-programs are text that change all the time and I don't want to have to keep editing the main...
Thanks for the response to my problem. What are "man readables"? I think there is something the machine sees that I do not see on the screen. I do need to add a percent sign at the end of the...
Has any out there running a Citizen A220 experienced problems getting a sub-program to work. I load the main program and the sub-program in the control. I call the sub-program up in the main program...
I am using a G32 threading cylcle with a custom macro I wrote. I just don't know the best angle to come into the next segment to pick it up the thread correctly.
I am very new to swiss programming and would like some advice on what angle to use for feeding a thread tool while doing a segmented thread. I wrote a really cool macro that will turn-thread-turn but...
Thanks, I have seen that switch and I'll give it a try. I find it hard to believe this new control would have such a limitatation with it's memory capacity. Thanks for your help.
I have a new Citizen A220 and turned a .5 sphere. I would like to do some simple engraving on the sphere. I wrote a program in Mastercam, edited the posted program to work in the Citizen and made it...
