I copied the idea from people at sawmillcreek that made a fume extractor. Took the same dimensions and thickness of charcoal that worked for them. Maybe there are still holes somewhere for the smoke...
Hi all,
Just relocated my laser to my garage with fume extraction to the outside but the smell is unbearable for my neighbors... So I build a fume extractor, based on results from others.
The...
Hi all,
I have a HX-laser 6090 lasercutter for two years now. It does it's work but I am still not happy about the consistency of the cutting/engraving quality. As I had to move the machine and it...
The second head it what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, my laser beam enters from the left side while this head is for beams entering from the right side.

Hmm, this should be the correct...
Hi all,
It seems impossible to get in contact with a chinese laser cutter/engraver company that wants to sell 2 new laserheads, 2 lenses, mirrors, laser combiner and alignment fixtures.
Does...
Hi Fanfan,
The problem is solved and I learned a lot about the alignment. Like tweakie said: check how the last lens is fitted. Mine was upside down..
Also, begin at the tube, make sure it is...
Double check focus height, and try to change the velocity. Covering the glass with wet paper could also be a solution.
What happens if you try a much lower speed with lower power? Where exactly doesn't it cut through, at start or end of the cut?
voordelige stappenmotor stappenmotoren microstapdrivers en CNC besturingen can probably supply you with a new laser tube. Or just contact a company like the dutch "lion laser".
Goedeavond MatD,
There are a lot of threads about chinese suppliers like xyz, rabbit, wg leike etc. Just read around and use the search a bit.
I have a lasermachine from HX laser(rabbit)....
Hi all,
Please help me out, as my customers begin to complain:
Since I bought a HX6090 machine I have a problem with the laser beam. I aligned all mirrors to get the beam in the centre of all...
Ahh oke, so checking how oily or wet a certain wood is explains why cutting goes well or bad. Thanks! Sounds like a good guideline.
Currently I only have experience with 3mm Birch ply, 6mm poplar ply and 3mm MDF. My chinese 60Watt CO2 laser cuts this at 10mm/sec, 85% power.
Does anyone have experience with the harder wood...
hmm, oke.. I have cut 8mm acrylglass before and in 2 passes the difference of top and bottom was only about 0.2mm. What if I use nitrogen as assist gas? Will it improve?
Someone asked me to cut 6mm and 12mm MDF. Has anyone experience with this? Maybe cut it in 3 or 4 steps? I have a chinese 60Watt CO2 laser.
But they only charge an hourly rate? For small parts that's very cheap. I calculated the cost per mm based on a 60 euro/hour rate.
Recently a lot of people asked me to cut stuff with my 60Watt CO2 laser but I still find it very difficult to determine the right costs so I wrote some software that calculates the total line length...
I use 3mm birch ply from an importer, mostly russian birch. Price is about 10 euro for a sheet of 153x153cm.
If you have lasercut 5.3, it can automatically calculate the total work time.
For me that wasn't precise enough so I wrote my own piece of software that exactly calculates cutting time and...
How does your beam look like without focus? Can you make a picture of that?(just a shot on cardboard or something)
Check the alignment at every corner of the table. Also, all mirrors could still...
Probably a misalignment from the last mirror to the lens. Had the same problem but that fixed it :)
Ya, but my system is only 60Watt ;)
I'm wondering it myself as it would be nice to cut base plates for RC cars.
How will the smoke and fume be when you add CO2?
I really don't see how you, in any way can protect yourself by putting the infrared beam through sunglasses into the material. What do you think the effect will be?
Seems like a bad idea.. It's your eyes and you only get one pair. Just buy proper glasses and/or close the lid of the machine!
There is a community here that will help you answering them for sure, don't hesitate to post any question :)
He also got it a week later according to his posting so it was shipped around april I guess.
Has any of you ever tried the multilayer ply with red/green and black/white abs? How is the result of that?
Never give up when you need something done, I'm pretty happy now :D
The edges are indeed a little bit swelled up but that's not a problem as it looks worse on the picture than it really is....
