After watching his video, only other thing I can think of, he is doing measuments of the square face off of the moveable jaw of the vise. Poor practice and not reliable.

Re: Chinese XK7130 a complete experience Review!

I agree. I wonder how many man hours actually went into this machine and also what the worker wages were.

The price he got this machine for just covers the CI and sheet metal....

Re: Chinese XK7130 a complete experience Review!

The competition I was referring to was the other Chinese manufacturers. Yes, I agree you cannot compare this machine to a Novakon or Tormach. It's just in a different league. The Novakons and...

What is the distance between T-Slots?

Looking at the pictures and I'm not being critical here, but why didn't they make the enclosure double wall, which would eliminate the chip shelf at the...

Re: Why no one has done an EG lathe so far?

So you will be making the tailstock too? :)

Well that really is up to you.
Are you building this machine for production purposes or is it just another lathe, CNC'd with with a bigger work...

Re: Why no one has done an EG lathe so far?

I can't think of a simple answer for that, but surely you realize that it is twice the work, as you have to make the mold first. Maybe that, in and of itself, is enough to discourage most DIY's....
  7. Re: [PCNC 1100] Perpendicularity of X Y motion - Out Of Spec.

I agree, this would be the best option for both parties.
  8. Re: [PCNC 1100] Perpendicularity of X Y motion - Out Of Spec.

I only suggested getting rid of the vise as a means of eliminating any more potential innacuracies inherent with fixturing. That way, he is 100% referencing on a known variable(the square).

    I...

    Ooops, missed it. LOL
  10. Re: [PCNC 1100] Perpendicularity of X Y motion - Out Of Spec.

Wow, so much discussion on how to do this and that and blah, blah, blah.......................
No one mentions that if it is out of spec, there is no provision to adjust the err......

    If you are...

    Comparative CNC???
This machine is in a class on its own.
Funny how the tax man always rears it's ugly head just when you think you got it all covered.

Exactly, especially if you add an air restrictor in the input of the cylinder.
But all that is behind us now as he has already made and decided to follow the general consensus of the enlightened in...

Re: Mach3/ESS/Yaskawa servo - under construction

I will recheck the soldering job on the CN2 connectors.
I will also try changing the settings that CNCMAN172 has suggested.
If any improvement I'll let you know and thanks for all the help.

    Ok workaholic,
First things first, How heavy are the pieces you are going to machine your die from?
How large will the workpieces be? These two questions alone make up for 70% of your choice of...

I just tested the mains and it reads 240.9 VAC. Tested the mains individually, each split phase measures 120 Vac to Neutral and 240 Vac when measured together.
The drives I have are SGDA-02AP and...

Did a quick test(being at work/limited time) with the parameter file you sent and motors seem much happier. No more vibration. But still only ~80 to 90 degrees of rotation then stop. No alarms and no...

Re: What machine to make steel dies and molds ?

Nothing wrong with BT40 tool holders. They can work just as hard as Cat40 tooling. For myself the spindle speed is a little low, but at that price, you can't ask for too much. With 15kw it should...

I have to agree with Hezz on this one especially when "new and cheap" is desired.
