I was so suprised to see a Winnipeg Thread after lurcking on and off here for many years. I'll give a little backgound.

.IDWs are basically Inventor's "paper" output.
An .IDW will allow you to produce a 2d image of the part (.ipt) you have modeled.
Under the file menu select new, select one of the canned .IDW...
Are you printing an .IDW?
If so you shoud be able to change the scale of the view.
Select view, right click, edit view

From the look of the machine specs your a little short on y travel

Maybe you should span the bottom of your gantry with something so it can't splay outward.

1) Max start speed
2) Max speed
3)Acceleration...
