i have a plasma table with nema34 motors on it.
these have at certain speed vibrations.
i would like to add some inertia dampener to help that.
here's where i got the idea from:...

the drivers are all the same: ACT DM860 finest what china has to offer...
all the dip switches are set the same for the 2 drivers from the Y-axis.

oke, but when i did that and i calibrated the axis in mach3 i got the twisting problem.
when i put the gear reductions in, i tried it first with the original drivers setting.

well the reduction that i have now is 5 to 1, if you give it 100 rpms it gives 20 rmps out.
so with what you're saying, i would then need alot more steps/rev then the drivers can give.

Yes, I now have 25000 steps/rev.
I thought I would need less steps with a 5 to 1 reduction. Because with then you can turn the shaft with less steps.

Okay but don't I need to enable the a axis then? I've included a picture of the pin numbers. I would need to use the numbers 8 and 9 then?

Well seems like my machine doesn't use a slave axis.
In the motor output page there are only 3 axis enabled x y and z.
Now what :)?

okay, here's my stupid question of the day:
do i check it in the slave menu, or how to check with 100% certainty?

I never looked if there is a slaved axis, neither did I change any settings regarding that.
Could the problem maybe solved by slaving one of the motors?

correct me if i'm wrong, but don't believe that there is a slaved axis.
the machine has 4 motors (2 for the y, 1 for the x and 1 for the z) and there are also 4 drivers.

a few days ago i added planetary gear reductions to my Y-axis (the axis has 2 motors, one on each side).
it's a 5/1 ratio and the machine runs smoother with it, and if a can get it...
