Guys, you spoil me!
Thank you!
I will action these suggestions this weekend; I resumed at my day job on Monday and am clearing my desk.
Thank you very much indeed.
Zool, everyone, I thank you.
I pooled all the suggestions as well as others from other posts, took a week away from my day job and got a solution.
First, I abandoned the custom profile that...
Thanks bud.
I will try both approaches over the weekend and revert.
Thanks Zool
I re-posted the G code in inches and got the X-Y plane issues out of the way.
The issue with the Z-axis persists; Mach is crashing it into the limit of my vertical axis as it tries...
G21.
The native units are set to mm. I confirmed this in the Settings tab on Mach.
Last weekend, I cut the attached job - designed in mm and post-processed into Mach3 from Rhinocam.
I set the clearance plane to 25mm and really had fun making the sample.
The customer liked it...
There are no home switches installed Gerry.
I only set soft limits.
Hi.
I am the proud owner of a KT-2514.
The machine's preset coordinate axes - in mm -have the bottom left corner as (390,-200),the bottom right corner as (-200,-200), the top right corner as...
Thanks bud.
I will enter that feedrate into my code to see what happens.
I do own a variable speed Porter Cable 892 - which the manufacturer assures me will fit on my KT-2514. I'll fabricate a...
I just got Trend's 6.3mm x 20mm spiral upcut acrylic cutters and need to know what feed rates to set for them to cut acrylic.
I use the DeWalt laminate trimmer with a fixed speed of about 24000...
Gentlemen,
I thank you very much for your guidance - it has given me the solution.
Very strangely, it was the z-axis drive all along. Strangely because I did test the drive.
Yesterday, I...
THANK YOU!
Mariss, The Blight,
I thank you and apologise for the break in transmission; the day job came up with some very demanding requests.
I resumed the checks over the weekend and believe your...
Thanks bud.
I'll try this and get back you.
colin1544, I am working on a similar issue: How does one determine if these are npn or pnp transistors. Does it matter either way?
My meter has different setting bands for npn and pnp transistors.
Mariss, The Blight,
I thank you.
Know that I know the BOB, I will perform those tests.
I am in the workshop all day today.
I still need help identifying the breakout board.
Is it visible in any of the attached images please? I see the three drives, the capacitors, a transformer, a board containing traisistors - and...
Mariss,
I missed this: "Are you Nigerian? I have met two Nigerians through work, both left a good impression on me. Intelligent, good sense of humor and hard working. Good people."
Yes indeed;...
Mariss,
Thank you once again.
I will revert as soon as I am done with the steps.
Mariss,
I thank you very much. I will perform these steps as soon as I get home today.
The red LED on each drive do come on.
A few guiding questions please:
- Is the breakout board...
Thanks Jeff.
But as I pointed out, the motors and their drives work. They are not broken.
Suddenly, my machine's z-axis became unresponsive to Mach3.
By swapping the x- and z-axes, I determined that the stepper motors are ok. Thanks KT CNC
I then followed Geckodrive's instructions...
I need to write gcode to cut - say - a sine curve in Mach3. Can anyone show me a sample few lines of code please?
I really thank you. It was really quite easy and very helpful.
IBM once had millions of customers worldwide too; where are they now?
I think you should be thankful that you have a customer that gives you feedback - however he gives it.
Thanks bud. But can you be a little more specific please?
I visited K2CNC's site and there are some links there that are supposed to help. k2cnc.com/Mach2_Mach3_setup.asp
It did not work for...
I set up my RhinoCAD profiling model in mm and posted it to Mach via RhinoCAM.
The resultant G codes are always in inches. ie G20 not G21
I am nearly done coding in VBA to effect the conversion...
chmillman, I thank you very much: it worked.
beege, thank you for posting the cnc help. That will certainly come in useful too.
I have modelled the Earth moon system in Rhino3d via Rhinoscript.
But I have no clue how to modify the rotation of the bodies to allow me scale time.
Can anyone help me please?
