Thats definitely a speed and feed issue, I think you need to check out Gwizard to calculate your settings.
If you are slotting, your depth of cut is aggressive, and spindle speed too low, but...
I had same problem, fix was to set tool number to 99 prior to probing, apparently has something to do with Mach 3 attempting to move to z0 on current tool number.

Couple of thoughts
Do you have tool compensation set on? Mach3 doesn't accept and may give the white paths as a result.
The blue and red paths look Ok , may need to check the parameters...
The tormach site has a couple of videos on how to adjust the default parameters in sprutcam
Welcome, I have a craftex 10 x 18, just purchased, seems good so far, I second the Little Machine shop endorsement
Where are you located in Canada?

The method you propose will form a worm gear, but not a spur gear. So if you are making a worm gear drive (as you propose)your in business!, but if a spur gear as part of a gear train is the plan...
Oh, now you've done it, prepare for the coming storm!
If you search the forum you will find plenty to read on this topic.

I'm out of Windsor, I have a Tormach in the garage, but i am exclusively a hobby machinist.
However, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have, within my limited expertise.

I have a kavo spindle and driver (4444) mounted on my Tormach mill, and would like to use the remote control features of the driver accessed via a 25 pole subd connection. Unfortunately the manual...
Need more info to discover the problem, what material? what tooling?
Are you using lubicant? are you feeding tool at 90 deg or along thread flank?
There are quite a few variables to adjust to...
Amen to the workholding issue, as a hobbyist, this has been the most challenging aspect of the jobs I have attempted.

I am no expert, but i wonder if the preload on your ballnuts can be adjusted? That is the means that backlash is eliminated on the ballscrews that i am familiar with.
Good luck

Truly impressive, a complete full featured conversion!
Video of operation would be in high demand, hint, hint.

Sounds like you need to adjust your gibb strips with the adjustment screws along the side of the slide. You should be able to tighten these up till you can't wiggle the slide, I had to tighten them...
The stock steppers should do you fine.
I used a fork lift truck to mount mine, if you use engine hoist, you need the load balance bar from tormach or equivalent. Be warned, it is HEAVY, I would be...
You are describing a classic fume inhalation injury to the lung, of moderate severity.
The time course is typical.
The table from tormach is very good at containing the chips and coolant for the most part, an additional splashguard out front and higher is necessary when high Z parts in process.
Face milling...
I use a wet dry shopvac
I would consider a Tormach mill, unless the process of retrofitting itself interests you.
Certainly you can be up and producing parts quickly.
I did a conversion of a PRAZI mill, interesting and...

I had a similar problem, check the connections to the control board on the door to ensure that the wires do not contact the plate holding the pot and other components, and that these connections are...
Its not so much the rigidity, although i suspect it is comparable, but the ease of mounting and alignment.
The trucks are matched to the rail by type, type determines load capacity in various axes...
I have usd both , the shuttle is the way to go, intiutive , easy to use, and speeds up setup dramatically
Thanks Al, but those codes are not supported by the flashcut software

Is it possible to set lathe feeds to inch per revolution for standard turning?
Clearly it is for thread turning with g76 , but is there a gcode for IPR turning otherwise?
Thanks
Wayne
Thanks guys, fortunately i didn't put out any cash yet on the drive, will likely go the DC motor route, and maintain the belt ratios for to give both speed control and power maintainance at lower...
I am taking the plunge and converting my Prazi lathe to cnc, including a VFD spindle drive. The drive specs can drive the motor from "0 to 6900 rpm " with apparantly a flat torque curve. My question...
I suspect you did not copy your license file over and that is why you are limited to 1000 lines of code.
Check out littlemachineshop.com for visual turn, they have excellent pricing
