Sorry to hear that.
Any resolution to this problem yet?
Why not use the Blum Metabox or a knockoff of it?
We have ours wired to a separate switch. As far as I know there is no hookup to the control in any way.
Don't know what the Siemens controller is for.
Sorry I'm late on this.
Check the lead screws for bare spots and apparently the toolchangers are notoriously bad. I have one (without a toolchanger) and I really like it.
:D
Hi Nick
I checked my machine this morning, com1, 9600, 8, E, 1, N. Everything worked fine. I didn't have to set anything up on the Gerber at all.

Hi Nick
What error do you get?
What communication protocols are you using?

Hi Nick
There should be a program called ArtSpool loaded on your computer. That seems to work reasonably well. There are limitations though. It will use wherever you start as 0,0 so you need to...
Did you figure this out?
I think Enroute will export a .ptl file. That file can be imported by ArtPath on the computer that runs the 408. If you have any other questions, let me know.
I don't know if you have this, but on my old K&T 600 the pallets could be indentified by a series of screws in the side (kind of a binary code) and the machine would run the program associated with...
Hi Jim
I remember a MX32 folder. I'll check this out the next time I'm at the machine.
Thanks.
Hi Jim
Yes I have access to that machine. What are the files that I should be looking for? I glanced through the folders the other day but I was looking for a pdf file.
Hi All
Would anyone have a .pdf manual for a 14 year old Multicam MG series router?
No matter what, you won't get anywhere near that speed in 10".
Good morning all.
I'm trying to convince someone that a small CNC is a better idea to turn threads than a manual lathe.
What would be a reasonable ballpark time for cutting 1 1/4-8 threads 10...
Onsrud has both, 72-XXX series. I use brad point.
No, we're not doing through bores. Missed that. Sorry.
Think in terms of chip load. Onsrud suggests 0.011 to 0.013 chip load for their 5mm drill bits. At 0.012 chip load a 4K rpm gives a feed rate of 48 IPM or 0.8 IPS.
We're running 72 IPM at 6K rpm...
We have noticed that even with the proper bit and depending on the feed rate a 7hp spindle can have trouble with 3/4 plywood.
It doesn't look llike you accounted for the router bit diameter in your drawing. You will not get 2 48" circles from a 4X8 sheet of plywood unless you get sheets that are somewhat oversize.
While...
Hi All.
How do you calculate the time and distance if the path is not a straight line?
BC Saw on Evans Ave in Toronto.
Excellent!
Maybe this ought to be in another thread, but what all was involved in running a waterjet with emc2?
Is it using a 4th axis for the kerf compensation?
How did you handle the deceleration and...
Hi All
I need some advice on the best (not necessarily the cheapest) way to build a 6' by 12' gantry system with X,Y and Z movement. .002 to .005 accuracy is fine.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks
What is the chip load of the bit? Onsrud shows anything from .003 to 0.013 for their 1/8 bits in laminated ply.
Once you know that, it's easy math.
Hi redox
A couple of things:
I am importing an .stl that is 2 by 4 inches. In the 2D view, the part is 2.5 by 5 inches.
Also, I can't seem to figure out the "zero rest" in the shape editor. ...
Teflon needs a binder for the seal to hold it's shape. Glass is commonly used but it will wear the bore over time. Graphite is the best.
If you can manage it, change your design to use seals about...
