Hello,
I teach a high school CNC machine shop/Solidworks class and we want to get a student scanned so we can cut it out on our mill.
Does anyone know about ho much this runs, or has a sample...
i just machined this face last night. i made it half scale. i can make the toolpaths for you, but you need to tell me what tooling you have.
mobil vactra believe its called
i use a solid carbide 1" dijet mirror bull for finishing holes and it does a fine job. no headaches. im sure sure on the cost, although i know its much more than 100. very versaitle though, and...
we run every finish program with the smoothness on finish. still, we get coining. more of a problem on the vm6 than a vf3
why don't you post the dimensions or a drawing and you'll get more help. maybe someone with cam can even program it real quick. if you post it here tonight, i can maybe get it done early tomorrow...
those hpi mx collets are money for smaller cutters. i wouldnt go over 8mils or 3/8.
er collets are not the most precise of the bunch. in my opinion shrink fit tooling is the only way to go for solid carbide cutters.
sweet. thanks for the idea.
the machine just cant change directions that fast and is less than perfectly rigid. the cutter has time to dwell in one spot and the machine moves a little with it.
the best you can do is try to...
haas machines are less than perfect at harsh stops with flat or bullnose cutters. just a fact of rigidity.
tighten the calculation tolerance of your toolpath in mastercam and those triangle will get less noticeable. I've not used mastercam, but changing the tolerance in WorkNC from .005 to .0002 makes the...
get cam. a machine like hat is more capable than igf can take advantage of. much more you can do with cam.
other machines can feed much faster than the haas and still whip the haas' surface finish. nothing about the haas machine is consisant enough for glorious finishes at high feeds. dont get me...
if you buy one from haas factory outlets and would consider a factory reconditioned one they're 5% off. what happens is the showrooms keep new models around for 6 months, then clean them up make...
you can machine hard materials with those. just take a real real light stepdown. those types of things dont normally take a cutter bigger than .25 inch. anything bigger than 3/16 really has no...
worknc is pretty sweet. compared to other cam packages ive used(camtool, cimatron and mastercam) its easier and just as, or more, capable
