    Re: Dolphin and Centroid Acron

    John,
If your familiar with PP formats and know what you want, with a little trial & error, I was able to write what I wanted. It all depends on your willingness to experiment. (save often :) )

    Re: Dolphin and Centroid Acron

    Hi John,
I use Dolphin with my Centroid Acorn. After i wrote a new (milling) PostProcessor for it, it's quite convenient to use now. i don't use it for the lathe.

    Centroid Post Processor

I am using V14. The Centroid PP (milling) that was supplied doesn't put in any M8/M9 codes when requested. Is there a way to get a Centroid PP that will utilize cooling M-codes (M8/M9)? I emailed...

    Re: FlashCut CNC questions.

Don't get me wrong. Flashcut is not the end-all control. It is NOT a high dollar commercial control. It does have its limitations, and I work within those. It is missing some basics such as being...

    Re: FlashCut CNC questions.

User base is quite large. It just works! Not really a lot to discuss. What do you want to do? If you want to experiment and get frustrated with something, get Mach 3/4. If all you want to do is use...

Re: Drill in CNC lathe argument

A better question would be, "who would consider it correct in the first place?" If your drill is ground correctly, there shouldn't be an issue. JMHO

    Re: Dolphin CAD/CAM

I started out with V10. it was "ok" for most 2D/2.5D stuff but it did have some basic shortcomings in toolpath utilization. For the price, and the post processor support it was worth it. I upgraded...

Re: Spindle Brake or Braking Resitior on BOSS?

    1. The directions are just a starting point. you must adjust the offset as the diameter changes.
    2. Make sure you are on the correct angle. Cobalt are usually 135 deg. vs. 118 deg for HSS.

    Servo specs and performance

    Any servo gurus?

Of the three you listed, only the Grizzly has speeds low enough to cut steel, barely. Closer to 100 fps would be better. The other two are wood band saws.
