Sure, send it to me and I'll teach it some manners:cheers:
I need to replace some long 1/2" wide L series belting that drives the long axis on my plasma table. I'm finding it in Urethane with steel cords which I have now, Urethane with Kevlar cords or...

As a low buck solution to the spatter problem I wonder if you could use something like a cardboard shipping tube or even a folded strip of cardboard. Dunk it in water, slip it in the tube and make...
The motors are Animatics model SM2315D-S2
The company does not have specs for it online that I can find, I'm assuming because it's not a current model. I have requested specs with the torque curve...
My table uses the Animatics "Smart motor" servos and they appear to be geared very high as it is currently set up.
According to the motor manufacturer the upper safe usable RPM limit is
8,000. I...
Thanks Gary,
good to know you are checking up on us here once in a while!
Thanks!
I do mostly artsy stuff and the nests usually need a little bit of tweaking for the best material use.
I know Gary went through this in my online training but I didn't use it and now have forgotten a step.
If I generate a nest then edit it using transform-bump-copy what do I need to do to get it to...
I think I am missing a setting or don't understand it.
In the DT software if you use slowdown for small holes, and freeze THC on those small holes is there something that drops the torch to cut...
When you say "Torch appears to start but doesn't, just times out." do you mean it is just firing in the air through the hole? If that is the case you'll need to turn the pierce delay off or almost...
I'm curious to know what kind of difference you are seeing in the way the machine runs with the new interface console. I've got a single drive with the older interface. Leon told me once that the...
Is anyone running the friction test that's built into the DT software? Just curious what kind of results you are seeing.
On my long axis I got a pretty consistent reading of about 0.6 all the way...
Does anyone have experience tuning Animatics smart motors using the SMI tuning utility? First off my understanding of servos is pretty limited so if you talk real slow using small words I won't be...
Do you have a cut chart for that Lincoln? I'm not familiar with it but 52 IPM sounds awfully slow for 14 gauge. By comparision my PMX 45 with 30 amp consumables has an optimum speed of about 120 IPM...
Well the thought behind that scheme is that if they can shift some of the peak load to the low demand times then existing plants won't be overtaxed at peak time.
Does it work? Who knows?
Jeff,
if you haven't already done it might also want to check your voltage to the compressor, adequate wire size for the length of run etc..
After upgrading to the 3.6 version DT software I see there are settings for waterjet as well as plasma and oxyfuel.
I wonder if they are working on waterjet or if that was just a feature added
for...
Thanks guys!
I used the first method today and will check out the M125 code tomorrow.
Is there a way to change the rapid travel height while at the machine? I've never worried about it before, just let it raise all the way up and figured reducing the chance of hitting a tip up is...
Really nice simple and low cost solution, thanks for posting it.
I assume if the torch hits somethings while cutting and pops loose the machine will get a lost arc signal and stop motion. Is there...
A little creative plumbing can get rid of a lot of line moisture. Vertical runs, drains at the bottom and pull your air off the top, let gravity work for you.
Well I'm definitely not an acccountant and taking my advice on financial advice would be risky at best. But, since you asked here's what I know, or was told by my accountant.
Basically anything...
I can't offer any real help other than saying go by the settings in your 1650 manual but if you post this down in the Hypertherm forum Jim Colt from Hypertherm will be all over it and get you dialed...
I was a full time Farrier for 10 years and kinda off and on for another 10. If there's a tougher way to make a living I've never found it and wouldn't want to. I've cut blanks on my CNC plasma for...
I've read somewhere that if you push your gantry around with power off that it can back feed voltage to the control box and damage it. Any truth to this in the case of DynaTorch machines?
And a...
After calling Gary and pestering him with endless questions and getting an excellent online demo I bit the bullet and ordered WeCim with the cutting shop version 3. Can't wait to get it, looks like...
Thanks for the input guys, I've downloaded the trial version of SheetCam and it seems pretty straightforward to use. We-cim looks like it has a lot more capability and I do need something to use for...
Magma-joe,
Thanks for the reply.
I do have access to the Pcam software. I have been playing with the arc resolution and allowable arc deviation settings in Pcam and exporting as a DXF. Now I've...
