    Re: Haas HRT210 motor replacement

as you've already found, plenty on fleabay. Make sure you get the correct part number. It's more common to have a different encoder on the ebay options.

    Re: Haas Rotary Castings

I am willing to bet most just send them into the HFO to get serviced. I've only had the brake off of mine.

I'd imagine it's pretty meaty except for where the worm shaft goes through.

Someone probably added it to maintain positive pressure to keep coolant out.

    Re: Haas Vf2 8100-rpm or 10,000-rpm Spindle

It appears they run the same motor. If you're cutting aluminum or steel with small end mills you'll use all the RPM. If you're doing production it's a no brainer to get the faster spindle.

Re: How large a Face mill diameter on a VF-2SS?

I run a 3" Seco Quattromill on a regular basis in my VF4SS and VF2 - both sidemount tool changers. I mark the tool heavy in the SS.

    Definitely thread mill.
  11. Re: SOLIDCAM FIXTURE COLLISION (BETWEEN STOCK AND TOOL)

What did you end up with? I too found a bunch of bugs, but I have yet to run CAM software without a ton of bugs in it.
The cool part is that they have been very responsive in fixing the bugs.
  12. Re: SOLIDCAM FIXTURE COLLISION (BETWEEN STOCK AND TOOL)

Report the bug, they have had all kinds of bugs like that in the past, select one thing, another thing changes.

Re: Help HAAS SMTC Doble Arm Motor Problem

Did your cambox leak out all it's oil? The double arm seal degrades over time and if you don't replace and replenish the oil it can get dry in there.

    Re: Conventional milling

To answer the original question on how to do it, when you select the geometry - you would want it to point the other direction, then under technology switch the path to the right instead of the left.

Re: New Mini Mill landed safe and sound

What Ydna said, G154P1 G154 P2, etc. You can also use G110, G111, etc. Your post processor should be set up to handle it one of these ways.

Re: miiling chmfer on difrent level serfes

Use HSS user defined projection. Select the surface, select the upper or lower curve and a tool big enough to do it. I usually use a ball mill for chamfers like that.

I think the transformer looking piece(I think this is the actual inductor) is sold separately, not 100% sure. I don't think these are available anymore.

Re: Glacern Cat 40 tool holders?

Dorian isn't really known for their CAT40 tooling - my opinion is to stick to known stuff.

Syntillo 9918 is great for GP usage - I only change mine once per year at most.

Re: Glacern Cat 40 tool holders?

Matt, you're absolutely on point. I do have one Mari collet - I don't think I have used it yet but it definitely doesn't look as nice as Techniks collets.

Kurt HDL4J is probably what you want. Orange vises do look nice but I'm in the same boat, I don't have deep enough pockets for that!

Re: Glacern Cat 40 tool holders?

I've been running Techniks collet chucks and Maritool hard holders. Techniks stuff I've been getting from allindustrial, I buy in quantity and they give me good pricing - same with collet sets....
  22. Re: Setting tool length offsets without the wireless probe system

Yup, I did! Luckily I have cheap collets and runout on some of them cancel out some of the runout in the rotary ;)

I'll have to get some quotes on a rebuild.
  23. Re: Setting tool length offsets without the wireless probe system

It's working great, thanks again! The screaming deal I got on the S5C wasn't super screaming considering it has .002" runout - might have to get it rebuilt.

The thing i like about the Edge...

I'm 99% sure mine goes way over 200% as well. It might go to 400, but I can't recall, I don't generally crank it up that high.
