    Re: X-axis clicking

    I tried this one time.
It created a mess in a wood router. Fine dust was collected on the rack and pinion over time.
I prefer to leave things dry with no lube.
  2. Re: Avid touch plate occasionally moves spindle up

I wouldn't purely blame it on Mach3. I now do run Mach4 however.
That being said I have pretty much the same setup you do and have never encountered what you describe.
It could be the setup of your...

Re: Arggghh! Jerky Motion All Three Axis

I would not recommend running your machine from a laptop.
Sure you will hear people do it.
The problem is they have many things happening in the background that desktop computers don't.
    You can...

CORIAN type materials cut very well on CNC Routers. Better than wood materials.
  6. Re: Shapeoko, V-Carve or Onefinity? Here is what I decided...

Avid makes a very capable machine. I primarily use it with wood, acrylics, corian, etc.
You should be quite pleased with its performance.
If you are good at assembly it will be very accurate.
    I've...

    There support is very good.
Is each switch wired to a separate input or are they combined or parallel?
What controller are you using to wire them? Can’t remember what electronics they use.

Re: Questions for Avid CNC Benchtop Pro owners

You most likely would want to use some type of spoil board. If you don't you will eventually ruin that surface. Tool crashes, wrong G-Code, etc.

    Re: CNCRP 4848 Axis Slipping

Call CNC Router parts. Re-iterating, it sounds exactly like my problem. They will offer you a solution. My system is/was G540 Nema 23 although I used many of my own components.

    Re: CNCRP 4848 Axis Slipping

I had the exact same problem with my z-axis. Spoke with CNC router parts and determined a solution to my problem that sounds similar to yours.

    Re: Epic CRP4848 Build Thread!

That is typical for 80/20. Not saying it is bad at all but it is normal for them to cut material and drill that way. I built a PRO2448 and all of my extruded material went together perfectly even...

    Re: PRO4896 in Northern VA

You may want to re-consider the 12" Z-Axis before you assemble. I went that route on mine to discover that CNCRP does not account for this with a taller gantry. So basically you will have the same...
