Did you guys try and see if the buzzer is hooped? It's just a peizo tweeter if I recall correctly and doesn't cost much money, chances are, the soldering came off the peizo plate.

All joking aside, this sounds like a neat idea, though it may have problems with moisture at least on the external grains of rice.
Myself I might use wood fibers mixed in to provide strength along...
Personally, having ran both milltronics and Haas mills, I would recommend going for the Haas mill.
Pros of milltronics:
They seem fairly rigid.
The control works for the most part
It has...
How do you set the Z height, say you have a new workpeice, without resetting all of the tools off the top of the part?
Almost every other mill made allows for a Z offset. I wish I didn't have to set my tools every time I set up a job. It'd be nice to just change the work offset and be able to keep the tool offsets.
I'm currently trying to use a centurion 6 control but I'm being met with some resistance. I can set the Z value for any of the work coordinates but it doesn't account for the Z value when say 'G55'...
Thanks for the info guys...
Out of curiosity? how do you set your work offsets and tool offsets?
Myself, I set the work offset Z as a distance from the table (or touch pad) to the part, so a...
The company I just started with has a Fadal TRM with full CNC capabilities. Today I wanted to drill some holes in a bunch of pucks and figured I could use the Fadal. I've never used a Fadal control...
I suggest waiting a while until they hammer out the more annoying bugs from X. I too find it foreign and strange. In fact, I avoid using it whenever possible. But I'll give it a year or so and see...
He's probably using the Create Text geometry button... you know, for engraving and stuff.
He might have a font that gibbs doesn't like or too many fonts... best guess.
Awesome, I got 'er figured out guys. Thanks for your help!
Hmmmm, I didn't know about that feature... it's not in an actual menu so I didn't think of it... neat, thank you. However, I'm having trouble getting one of the arcs to show up in the correct...
gibbsman:
Yes. 4 squares/rectangles, all connected, 12 lines all together. All blue.
cadman:
I know about the rectangle and tangent tools, however, can you select which corner the rectangle...
I have some experience with mastercam, however, I've kind of found myself in a position where I need a couple of questions answered... Hopefully somebody here can help me out. I'm currently using MC9...
I always found the lack of color selection a problem... seeing regular geometry is really hard for me to see because blue doesn't show up well for me, thus I often have to highlight geometry just to...
Are you asking for a quote?
I would say 1 hour programming time since you have the solid and ~10-15 min floor to floor for production... not including setup
most shops charge $70-$110 hour...
Look on my site at http://www3.telus.net/tarkus
look near the bottom of the page, there's a program I wrote called Picmill.
It will take a jpeg/gif/bmp and turn it into heightmapped Gcode... in...
You know though, if the part looks like the solid you sent, it would have been faster to simply blank out the 2x4x.5 blank and cut the angle from the side... :)
The only problem with the Comm Control is the fact that it only supports up to Port 16... while this is OK for most things, if you ever want to use it in a modern serial hub, you're outta luck.
...
On a related note, has enyone ever noticed how consistent and tightly toleranced LEGO blocks are? Lego blocks are quite well made.
I thought about this when I got a box of Mega Blocks (A Lego...
You might be able to get a hold of an old version of virtual Gibbs... If I recall, it was Mac first.
Here you go man, it should work... I would've been done sooner but I don't have MC9 on my work machine.
Tell me if it works for you.
I'll do it in mastercam 9 then... I'll be a little while longer, have to go use my laptop.
Is the code output for TurboCNC way different from standard fanuc or haas G-code?
Er, I made a solid and I have it in mastercam X.
Would you like me to simply post it out for you or would you like my solid/mastercam file?
if you want me to post it out, what do you want for a...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page is an example of a really large wiki...
I once decided to sit down and create a little CAD/CAM system. I wanted to make it as easy to program as possible. When I thought about how to handle geometry and its creation, I came up with a...
I've run various Haas' for a decade now and I feel that the quality may be slipping. Although the general workmanship is still pretty good and the performance is decent, it tends to be the small...
You can also look at some software I made... it doesn't do raster to vector, it does however do something similar to MC Art. It takes the image and creates a heightmap out of it... anything light is...
It'd be almost worthwhile to set up a wiki for the various CAD/CAM systems... It's always just those little things like "How do I do 4th axis work?" and stuff like that.
