Yea, I've seen that manual also. Look at page 23, you'll see the reference to the missing section "4.4".
I've just sent a second email to Yakotec (no reply from the 1st).
Todd
This could be part of the problem:
"Please refer to the debugging procedure inSection 4.4. "
There is no 4.4 in my manual, or any manual I can find online???
Todd
That being said, my manual is titled "Brief Edition"...but have never another version.
Ok, I'm struggling here...I should also clarify that I have the ES2 series of drives.
mactec54, I don't see anything in my manual that references any sort of learning capability, but I see it...
Thanks for the reply mactec54...
I don't see an "auto tune" feature in the Yakotec software???

mactec54 - Sorry, “mounting plate” was the wrong term on my part...I meant using the base plate from the stepper after disassembly.
Joe - Saw the larger motor in your video....seems like a logical...
Depending on what you plan to do with the stock steppers, you can take the mounting plates from them and reuse with the new servos....just needs the new hole pattern.
Todd
Never mind...dowels pins were just tight.
Thanks anyways...

Ok, am I missing something???
Trying to get the top pulley cover off of the head, and can't seem to figure out why it won't come off? I have the top bearing cover off, the 5 cap screws around the...
The adapter plate is easy, the pulley setup will take a little thought...maybe reuse the existing pulley mated to a new extended hub.
Anyone reuse the original pulleys on a new stepper or servo??...
Over the weekend, I narrowed down how I will proceed if I use the original steppers...BUT, before I spend a penny, I still want to explore the option of servos.
I understand the Sigmas have a...
This is the area where I need some education/advice...there is a lot of debate whether to wire the Sigma steppers in series or parallel.
If I understand correctly, the motors are currently wired...
Ok, time to start thinking about a power supply for the steppers...

A couple of other questions:
1. I've been searching for a parts manual online, but not having much luck...it seems these mills have various names? What is the official name? Series 1 Interact?...
Great info!
Had a long chat with Gecko on Friday...I'm now leaning toward their new G214 drive - up to 256 microstep resolution - G214 High Resolution Stepper Motor Control | GeckoDrive
Thanks for the replies Marty and Schortbus...
I would like to see a wiring diagram too.
I’m open to other drivers as well, just seems that the two I mentioned are the most common I’ve read...
Thx!

Time to start a new project.
I recently acquired this BP (not sure what year it is yet), and plan to do a mild restoration and controller upgrade. It's actually nicer in person than pics show....
Looking for some help...Not new to machining, but somewhat new to CNC. I have a "new to me" 2 axis lathe up and running with a 21T controller, and trying to learn how to set up tool and work...
Does anyone sell a cable with this configuration??
Todd
I've been doing some searching on this forum, but can't seem to find an answer....
