    Teknic M-4780-FH/H1 Servo motor - - -

Can anyone recommend where I can get this motor serviced/repaired? Teknic does not communicate with end users.

    Regards,
    Joe T.
  2. Re: Avoid Teknic drives, they are cheap for a reason....

Are you sure? Mach 3 was not, but I am told by several vendors that Mach 4 is.

  3. Re: Avoid Teknic drives, they are cheap for a reason....

    Mike,

First off, I am not a CNC technician.

I have a CNC router which uses four Teknic M-4780-FH/H1 servo motors and four Teknic SST 3000 Servo Drives. The machine has a problem which took me...
  4. Re: Avoid Teknic drives, they are cheap for a reason....

    Mike,

Thank you. I was hoping you had subscribed to this thread - - - -

Well, you just ruined my day!!! ;)

I had hoped to upgrade my router from the Teknic M-4780-FH/H1 servo motors with...
  5. Re: Teknic support

    Mike,

How many Teknic 'units' do you purchase in a typical year? In other words, what volume justifies becoming an 'OEM?'

    Regards,
    Joe T.
  6. Re: Are you glad to have bought a Chinese made CNC Router?

"I am having serious problems with red algae growth in the cooling water. I tried Auto Antifreeze, Detergent, pool chlorine slows it down but god knows what that is doing to the spindle."

    Have you...

    islaww,

I just looked at your information at the bottom of your post. Gary, you and I have had these discussions on the phone ad nauseum. .

I don't agree with your statement: "The world is,...

    Re: Wincnc

First off, I would like to apologize for not replying to this post MUCH SOONER! I guess I missed the email notification that was sent when it was posted - or my senility is running amok again! ...
  9. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    All,

I am still working on a set of charts/slides that illustrate what I have done to date and hopefully show that the problem SEEMS to be WinCNC control system problem. If it is not a WinCNC...
  10. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

I am still working on a reply. Lots of photos, etc.

I'll post in a day or two.

But, yes, the 'Shift' is very repeatable and only happens when there is a '3D' move.

    Also, you...
  11. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    One final comment:

When I was running these 'acceleration tests,' I stood near the work offsets 'X0' location. During the single and two axis moves, the spindle came back to the X0 location...
  12. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

Let me clarify the above post:

The 'X-Shift' occurs ONLY when there is a 3-D movement. What I mean by this is that the spindle is moved in the X/Y/Z axes simultaneously. If it is moved in only...
  13. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    All,

I have identified the source of the problem. But, that 'source' could have one of several root causes.

I have continued to run diagnostic tests.

If you remember, I originally thought...
  14. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    All,

    An update:

I have been trying to understand why my CNT Motion router 'gets lost in X' for a long time. I decided in early July to take a more structured approach to trying to understand...
  15. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    All,

I have made some progress on my "Drifting X" problem. I performed a parametric evaluation and learned a lot. The main thing I learned is that my problem is not one of noise or cross talk. ...
  16. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

I just got my "DEMO" version of EditNC extened (7-14-2015). I will finish the programming of 4 test blocks, the EditNC APT.source to G-Code conversion and the modifications to make the G-code work...
  17. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    Gfacer,

Thanks again for all of your help.

I have a number of oddly shaped rigid urethane foam blocks given to me by a friend who makes master tools for the composite industry. These blocks...
  18. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

The 'H4" is one of the 10 'Home' positions. That is how one calls it out in a program. How these 10 HOME positions are different from the 10 'Positions - Local or Absolute,' I don't...
  19. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

I would be happy to email them to you. I have all of the macro files, Win.ini, and others.

I tried to run this boat anchor again today. You know the non-soft limits? Well, look at...
  20. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

I thought you might like to see the '10 Homes' and '10 Positions - Absolute or Local.' Plus, a couple of other oddities like 'Creating Home.' Finally, one macro that seems to still be...
  21. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

    Thanks for the inputs.

I had Kelly Davis of WinCNC remotely log in to my machine. He checked all of the macros and the WinCNC.ini file. He found a lot of problems and corrected them...
  22. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

My machine has two drop-down windows. One allows the creation of up to 10 'HOMES!' Real G-Code only allows for one home.

The other drop-down window has one tab that allows up to 10 'POSITIONS'...
  23. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

Thanks for the offer to discuss this problem of mine. I have a lot of programming questions such as having macros for 10 HOMES!!! Also, 10 POSITIONS which can either be Absolute of...
  24. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

    gfacer,

I am surprised you do not use soft limits! Every time you 'HOME' the machine will go to the hard limits and that can be a problem with hitting the hard limit switch too hard. Also, when...
  25. Re: Re-wiring a 2001 CNT Motion Systems Router on the data side.

Good luck! I am interested in following your story.

I, too, have a CNT Motion Series 1000 router that needs some TLC. It is nearly 'new,' but was built in ~2003 -- very low hours.

    I have...

I am very interested in WinCNC. I have a CNT MOTION Series 1000 router, circa 2003 with a control software and computer update in mid-2010. I bought the machine used and I am trying to learn to...
