I think your lexan will hold up so long as the box has enough air circulation to cool down the electronics.

well this is interesting.. so if you mount the motor directly to the ballscrew with a flexible coupler, this motor resonance shouldn't be as much of an issue!

i too had considered this mill.. but the round column isn't going to hold as accurate.
