I have been all over this forum. Most of the time I've spent on here has been in the Joes2006 thread and those related to it. I don't recall ever seeing anyone mention a dual head setup.
Although...
Thanks Joe!
That still photo from the last video just gave me an idea for the first addition to my currently incomplete 2006 model router.
I have some extra bright LEDs left over that I bought...
Not totally true. You can reposition the workpiece to get longer cuts.
The program would have to be split to do this. Set zero point, run first program, reposition wokpiece, set new zero point, cut...
Have you thought about using dowel pins in the table, cutting holes or slots on the board, and repositioning the board? You would just need to run a seperate program for each half. I think some...
["I don't see anything that you can do on the outside of that part with a boring head: you cannot turn a taper, nor form external fillets, or do multi-pass OD turning without calling a new boring...
THAT is a heck of a deal there!
LumberJack_Jeff,
I couldn't have said it better myself. :) My wife is STILL not too happy about the inability to park a car in our "two car" garage. With the...
Thanks for the reply. I was able to find that in the help menu as well.
I couldn't figure out how to pull each file from the directory to import it automatically within a script file.
In the end,...
Creating a new file would be fine. I just would like to import the DXF files so that they are all in one location instead of a bunch of small DXF files.
I was going to use the "_insert" command,...
I'm trying to load a series of DXF files contained in one folder into AutoCad 2006 LT. I'm thinking that a script file would be the best way to get this done.
Because all of the DXF files are...
The size of the drawings are pretty large. So a standard printer would mean a lotof pages taped together. Unless you have access to a large capacity printer.
You could try a place like Kinkos.
How about a DIY model? :)

Also check into the Fanuc Oi series.
I had been running Agies for 10+ years before running the Fanuc. The Fanuc is really nice for the money. Plus, if you like to write/change code at the...
Dave,
Thanks for the photos. Nice looking hybrid you have there.
I've been torn over what color to paint my "2006 " when I complete it. After seeing your photos, dark grey or black looks great!...
Wow, nice job.
You've made a lot of progress in finishing the machine in a relatively short period of time.
Looks great.
I'm starting to wonder how my neighbor is going to like the whining of...
Here ya go....

AJ, Great looking progress.
I'm not sure that his is exactly what Astor123 was talking about, but I've worked with "Phenolic" before. It's a reinforced resin product. (Really smells bad when...
AJ,
UHMW is "better", but harder to machine 'cause it's difficult to hold.
Check out this thread...

I've been following your progress with much interest. Any updates?
As for your latest "issue"...
I would think that if you're missing steps, you could test by setting an indicator to zero and...
Maybe I should clarify.
I was talking about adding the angle iron to the outside of the gantry. The two thin edges of the angle iron would be in contact with the gantry sides.
I would think...
Would there be any advantage to mounting the angle iron work on the edges, similar to the bearing brackets?
Of course, two grooves would have to routed into the outside gantry pieces.
BK,
The pipes are 3/4", but that is on the inside diameter (ID)of the pipe. The 3/4" drill rod measures 3/4" on the outside diameter (OD). The drill rod is solid. If a solid rod was used for the Y...
Yep, in a matter of minutes.
The "rectangle" sizes range was 4 to 30mm long by 1.5 to 9.5mm wide.
Then, each one had a partial or full radius at either or both ends that ranged from 3 to 9mm....
Well, I cheated a bit. But I was able to git 'er done.
I drew a simple form in autocad and saved as a DXF. Then I copied the header info from that file and saved it on its own. I then used a shell...
I'm in a bit over my head here. I haven't touched any programming of this type in years and I'm a long way from getting all the cob webs out.
I'm not sure what you mean about the VBA Macro. I did...
I need some help generating a DXF file using variables.
My goal is to auto generate about over 91,000 DXF files for a very simple form. The variables will set the size of a rectangle as well as...
Zigzag,
It's ironic, don't you think, that in what was (I suppose) your next sentence you wrote, "No disrespect" :)
Were you really questioning what the nest was for? Or, were you just interested...
OK.. So, here are the latest nests for the 1/2" thick MDF. I've done two versions. One using full 4'x8' sheets. The other using 2'x4' sheets. The 2x4 sheets can be run in Joe's CNC router. I've also...
Thanks, Joe. I'll redo the nest and resubmit it.
I also think my counts are off on the parts. I only included 6 x-axis pipe supports. There should be 8.
Do you have a parts list somewhere? Also,...
As promised in the "layout" thread, I nested the parts for the Joes2006 router. Included are nests for 3/4" and 1/2" MDF. I've also included a printout of the parts on each sheet and area used.
I...
