    Re: Slave Axis Homing

    go to:
    Config>general config

    uncheck A-axis in angular

check home Slave with master axis

    Config>Homing/Limits
  2. Re: DIY table saw fence using sbr rails + bearings?

It probably doesn't have a real advantage. It would be nice to take my designs from the pc and have a cut list ready to go, with the saw moving to each position in its own. I was more interested in...
  3. Re: DIY table saw fence using sbr rails + bearings?

I was planning on spacing the 2 bearings on each rail 10 or so inches apart to help prevent racking.
I would like to have 2 options using it.

Have it connected to screw with the motor under...
  4. DIY table saw fence using sbr rails + bearings?

I've been considering retrofitting a cabinet table saw (Grizzly1023RL) with longer rails, router table and a DIY automated fence. It currently has a Biesemeyer-style-fence.

    I was considering...

    Re: Skyfire CNC owners?

I hope it works out well for you. Would you mind doing some runout tests like Blaat did on this page?

Also, are you from roadstercycle.com? If so, thanks for the fh20 kit. My vulcan's electrical...

    Re: Z lift

With power not going to the z axis motor, can you move the axis by turning the ballscrew? Is it difficult?

Could be alignment issues, could be linear bearings issue etc.

Does the machine have gas struts or pneumatic cylinder to assist the z axis against gravity?
  13. Re: Inductive Proximity Sensor electronics problem, help needed.

Do you have a setting for active low/high in your control software? In mach 3, you would need to check active lo for that pin in the ports and pins menu.

Also, on my system, I had to tie the V- of...
  14. Re: Inductive Proximity Sensor electronics problem, help needed.

Does your BOB have optoisolation on the input pins you're using? Is it designed to take a 12v signal if not?

Re: Homing with X and A

Do you have limit switches on both the X side and the A side of that axis? If not, go to Config>General Config and make sure "Home slave with master axis" is checked.

  19. Re: Have my machine, now i just need some help with electric control parts (have list

I think I would go with something ethernet based for a plasma machine, because my understanding is that there is a significant amount of EMI when the torch fires. I believe USB is more susceptible to...
  20. Re: Have my machine, now i just need some help with electric control parts (have list

    Ethernet:
    UC400
    UC300 ETH

    USB:
    UC300 USB
    UC100

These will work with MACH3, but they also have their own control software which has a better motion planner than Mach. I don't know the ins...

  23. Re: Probotix Nebula vs CNC Router Parts CRP4848

I didn't realize the gantry was now made of steel tubing too. Seems like a really nice kit at that pricepoint if all of the QC issues have been worked out, though personally I think I would kick...
  24. Re: Probotix Nebula vs CNC Router Parts CRP4848

You don't think the linear rails on the FLA are far superior to either the probotix's (the gantry on which seems a little whimpy to me too) or the standard cncrp (which the OP referred to)?

    edit:...
  25. Re: Probotix Nebula vs CNC Router Parts CRP4848

This is a MUCH better machine than the other 2 you're considering OP. It will be orders of magnitude more rigid and capable of running without adjustment for quite some time. They also currently have...

    Re: G540 Wiring question

What motors are you using? Did you solder in a current set resistor into the db9s?
  30. Re: XZero Mach 3 / MX3660 / 281oz motors proper setup

On my g540 setup I used a separate 12 volt power supply for my proximity switches and just jumped the V- of the 12volt supply to the V- of the powersupply to the g540.
