  1. Re: Anybody know what "PathPilot Controller - Next Generation" means?

I think its a small form factor pc like rdsi built in the other thread. I was tempted to do this a year or so ago. Uses different Mesa card then current controller. Also encoder feed back thru...

    Re: G-code editor

I define the tools in sprutcam and pp the same. Each cutter has a tool number and description and carefully measured. I just made note above because the ease of using published numbers in cam and pp...

    Re: G-code editor

In sprut I use a standard 2d operation that follows an edge on the model. The example above shows the actual gear model, but I don't use that for the operation setups.
    Quick summary.
    1) I draw the...

    Re: G-code editor

My cam system post processor generates simple repeated code. The tool path code is repeated for each tooth and the only change is 4th axis move.

Re: Set up and run - Steel parts

Your videos are nice. I always pick up a trick or learn something in general.
Do you use conversational programming for most your lathe work?

    Re: Tormach sales

That's the only one I ever noticed :).
They do or did have an end of summer sale on the sb15l. Offering to include some accessories in the base 15k price.
I put off an order all summer for...

Re: SprutCAM for 4th axis on PCNC100

Sorry no experience with fusion, just what I see online.
I think your on the right track. I would use normal indexed rouging operations to remove most of the material then setup 3d or 2d rotary...

Re: SprutCAM for 4th axis on PCNC100

Hard to say exactly how to setup operations like this. I find no less then 2-10 ways to do anything in sprutcam. I use ver 12x and many operations have changed. As you mentioned stock definition,...

Re: SprutCAM for 4th axis on PCNC100

When I setup those operations I use the total depth to be milled as the stock value. Then set step to some number that works for depth of cut.

  10. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

Current, I keep it updated. I'm thinking its windows 10 problem and some past windows update disabled some network functions. I have no workgroup anymore as mentioned here, or its hidden.
  11. Re: Path Pilot v2.0 Network (Samba) Share Not Accessible

Anyone have a trick for setting up a network share in windows 10 with a networked PP controller to move g-code?
I see everything on my network but the mill. I can see the mill is connected to router...
  12. Re: buying PCNC 1100, am I asking too much?

    +1
Unless your day job is designing and building full dress machine tools. IMHO Retrofit tools just don't measure up to a full working system out of the box. These machines are complete and for the...

    Re: SlantPro Toolsetting

Sounds like a flat bottom probe tip would be handy for this. Wonder why Hamier don't make one for cnc lathe use?

Smokediver, why the probe flat for clocking to bed?
I see flat ends for the...

I update shortly after every release. No drama to report when upgrading a standard 1100-3 mill configuration. Wonder what the problem was or is?

    Re: 1100 Splash shield

Yes tormach shield was extruded acrylic "not safety grade form of polycarb", it crazed in a few months and fell apart a couple years later.
I kept my shield shorter to ease reach over during tool...

Re: Joining the Tormach 1100 family

    Re: HF Sand Blaster.

Some tools from HF work just fine. I trusted a HF engine hoist to lift and set my Tormach 1100. :) And I trust a HF electric winch on a trolley to move things like a 220lb 8" super spacer on and off...
