Re: Slant Pro - Tooling Tips and Tricks

Interesting - you have the newer turret, which apparently uses sockets for 12 mm balls whereas my "Series 1" turret takes 10 mm coolant balls. Your sockets are also oriented "above" the cutter...

Re: Slant Pro - Tooling Tips and Tricks

I went ahead and ordered some of the QPM coolant nozzles after measuring the coolant fitting ball diameter on Tormach's turret (10 mm) and decided on the BB11012 part numbers, which are angled balls....

Re: Slant Pro - Tooling Tips and Tricks

Paul - do you know if those fit the original SB-15 turrets? The currently sold turret dates from about 3 years ago, I think.

Re: Co2 laser tube premixed gas

You can buy custom gas mixtures in the US, but that is usually fairly expensive - say a few hundred $ or more.

I thought that some one here mentioned that Charter Oak seemed to be out of business?

Poll: Re: Custom Large Glowforge Practical?

It actually is limited to somewhere around 11-1/4 x 19.5".

    Re: SlantPro Toolsetting

Keen - I can physically see the turret rotate slightly when a tool starts a cut right after a turret tool change. That seems to give me a thou or two variability on turned parts as a worst case. Is...

    Re: SlantPro Toolsetting

I picked up one of the Tschorn lathe too setters at a good price; it seems to work fairly well and is certainly a lot quicker than the tool touch off method. Maybe Cliff will come up with an ITTP...

Poll: Re: Custom Large Glowforge Practical?

Modifying a Glowforge doesn't make much sense to me when you can buy a more technically capable laser cutter/engraver at about the same price point, especially if you are planning to put money into...

    Re: RAPIDTURN VIDEOS

I have an early InTurn from back before PathPilot was out but never set it up as the job I bought it for went away. I'm pretty sure that Steve either has or is planning to support Path Pilot so I...

    Re: RAPIDTURN VIDEOS

Hi Cliff - Good info and thought process even for those of us that don't have a RapidTurn. I was wondering, though, if you'd ever looked into the InTurn 4th axis system that is described at...

    Re: SprutCAM 12 soon

I've been checking for patches whenever SC 12 starts to act oddly, but I only use it a few times per week at most so don't have much occasion to check.

    Re: SprutCAM 12 soon

I also like the new tool window, but wish there more options for customizing tool profiles, especially for turning tools.

Re: Buy Chinese C02 Laser located in USA

You might also want to consider Rabbitt Laser (based in the US) and the US reseller of Thunder Laser machines - https://thunderlaserusa.com/

I'm not sure if the latter stocks all or any of the TL...

    Re: PCNC 1100 Info

If it has the Series I steppers and drives, then it is worth the ~$800 to upgrade to the Series III steppers and drives. Also the power drawbar is a useful upgrade if yours doesn't already have that.

Nolan - is there some reason that Thunder Laser doesn't provide a link to the cut files for projects like this in the YouTube video description?

You might check out the In Turn guy:
