    Re: Basic setup for UCCNC with CNC4PC C76 300ETH

    I dont want to highjack the OP's thread, but I was talking about setting zero from a laser. Using a macro to go the offsets set for the laser pointer and setting x and y to zero. I think you had that...

    Can you find a place for xy zero with laser? Maybe instead of G59?

  6. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Even though I have run it at 6000 for up to 30 minutes without it getting warm (just breaking it in), I don't really need that low a speed except for occasional drilling. I could adjust my settings...
  7. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    They did not have a recommended min speed. I currently have it set to 6000 (100Hz)

  12. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    According to my book:

    PD175 = Inverter model
    PD176 = Can be set to 0-50Hz or 1-60Hz Factory is 0
    PD120 = Stall Prevention - 0-200% Factory is 0
    PD010 = Min Starting Voltage ...
  13. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Unfortunately not. I've resigned myself to the fact that I messed up and need to replace it. Just want to be ready when that happens.
    I'll probably take this one apart and see if there is anything...
  14. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Mactec54, on those other settings - should i be using any of them?

    Finally found time yesterday to get it running. Seems to run fine. In going through some other posts I find one that you also...
  15. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Well this is an expensive lesson to learn!
  16. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    You are right. One of the solders must have come loose. The plug is fried.

    If the VFD does not power up does it mean it is also dead? Is there any kind of reset on them?

  19. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    I'm not sure what a Megger test is.

    I did a continuity test on the spindle.
    I have continuity between ground pin and case (i double checked that the ground pin was connected to the case before i...
  20. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Well Disaster has struck!

    I was about 75% through a job of milling some aluminum plates when I hear a pop from the spindle and a wisp of smoke. The VFD was also dead - as in no lights at all....
  21. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Finally found time yesterday to get it running. Seems to run fine. In going through some other posts I find one that you also recommended a few more settings than the ones I had originally. Are these...
  22. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    I'm not using Modbus (I don't think) I'm using the UCCNC HY plugin using the RS485 converter. Doesn't the Modbus work off of the analog inputs?

    Going to start it up today.
  23. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    OK, got my VFD/Spindle. Have the VFD wired and Spindle installed but have not connected the spindle yet. I wanted to run it past here first.

    Attached are pics of my wiring and settings.

    I would...

  27. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    You are right - I was going to use a separate 110v circuit. I will change that now as I'm going to start the wiring this weekend.

    A couple of things to clarify if I may:

    In the US here our 220v...
  28. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Ok, guess I need to rethink my layout.
    Thanks for the info.
    Hopefully I'll receive the unit in the next couple of weeks.

  29. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Is the mounting plate necessary? I've seen diagrams where both the shield and ground are connected together at the E terminal? Doesn't that accomplish the same?
  30. Re: Finally moving up to VFD and Spindle - Looking or confirmation on some points

    Thanks,
    I think I am clear on the shield grounding, but would like to see you diagrams just to make sure.
