Re: Need material for dust curtain

I used clear stair tread vinyl material and it works great. Good luck with McMaster-Carr shipping to Canada. Unless you are a business they won't deal with you.

Re: Insert Cool Name Here 24x48 Build

I used MDF just to prototype the design. My intention was to use a high quality ply for the final version. I agree that aluminum or some other metal would perform better but I want to keep it...

Re: Insert Cool Name Here 24x48 Build

The bottom two bearing carriers are in slotted holes to adjust for pipe diameter variance and initial wear on the pipe. I'm thinking that after the pipe is work hardened there should be minimal...

Insert Cool Name Here 24x48 Build

Late last year I was going to build the Sidewinder CNC based on Dave G. plans but after some feedback I've decided to start from scratch and design my own. Phase 1 are the linear bearings for the X...

Here's my contribution. 3D printed hose connector, magnet mount ring, and skirt ring. The skirt is made from stair tread protector.

    Re: Sidewinder CNC 2

This will be a budget conscience build, especially with the Canadian dollar in the tank right now effectively doubling the price of most parts to my door after taxes and delivery.

    Re: Sidewinder CNC 2

The one I've cobbled together right now is barely an entry level I'd say. Pretty flimsy but probably good enough to build a new one.
So, what would be a recommended design to use?

    Re: Sidewinder CNC 2

For drives it will be a Gecko G540. The motors are TBD but run off of 48V. I intend to use it for 3/4" ply/MDF, lexan, drag knife foam board or balsa, thin CF ~3mm, and maybe light gauge aluminum...

    Sidewinder CNC 2

After finishing a CNC build that someone else started but gave up on, I decided to build one from scratch from a much better design. I liked the Sidewinder CNC design from Dave G. to use as a base...

Re: Gecko G540 Current Set Resister

Thanks for the info. Of course now I have more questions than answers to think about. I'm in the middle of a build that someone else abandoned. My motors are the one spec'd here with a knockoff...

You have to go into your settings and change the thread display order to 'oldest to newest' (or something like that).

I'm close to Woodstock and just getting started in the "larger" CNC world. I built a Prusa i3 3D printer last year and love it. I have ideas for a new one but thought a CNC router would be handy to...

Sticky: Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.

    Hello Everyone,
I'm just finishing off a CNC router I bought unfinished off of someone that started the project and then lost interest. It is based on the original buildyourcnc.com design I think....
