Re: Large Epoxy granite VMC building

So what your saying is it's better too insert aluminium bars and have them milled for the linear rails than use steel. Just about to purchase supplies for mine

All good. You spoke about thermal dissipation and how alu was a better choice on your Facebook post so was just curious.

What did you insert for mounting the linear rails? Steel or Alu? And why did you choose that?

    Re: Epoxy Granite Portal Machine

Quite possibly meant inches, I just assumed he meant MM when everything else was in metric. But 25micron is a lot more achievable

    Re: Epoxy Granite Portal Machine

If you want a 1 micron tolerance and this is your first build I don't think it's going to happen, not being negative but take a look at KERN, they build some of the most accurate machines in the...

    Re: Concrete VMC

Very nice, would you be able to do a video on how you fit the way covers and how you measured up the covers to fit?

    Thanks Chris

  8. Re: Potential new concepts in the process of epoxy granite castings

I think you'd need more than 14.69psi to pull resin through a 200mm+ aggregate block.

Re: Large Epoxy granite VMC building

Ah k. So it's not all sand there is a percentage of gravel, having bigger sizes around the 4-6mm means you can use a lower percentage . Look forward to seeing the results.

Re: Large Epoxy granite VMC building

If using just sands it usually requires a higher epoxy ratio around 14% but interested to see your experiments.

I would spend more time making money than trying to make consistent tool holders.

I wouldn’t bother. You can buy them for $20-30 of aliexpress.
