So where do you fit in dertsap?? If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem???? Right Ive been programming for 15 yrs and I can't tell you how many times an operator came up to...
how much grinding are you doing? you could probably use a small shop vac if your'e that worried about it. If seen alot of wet grinders and I don't recall too many people using the dust collection....
I don't think you know what a wet grinder is. The vacuum unit is to remove dust. The coolant tank is for wet grinding it is low pressure like a swamp cooler pump or submersible pump it puts coolant...
As far as the Haas tool setter goes, It works great takes a couple of minutes but it knows through parameters where the touch pad is and moves to position and calls up the tools and touches them off...
Geof, I disagree wholeheartedly but I have to go to sleep so I Will get back on this tomorrow.
Joe
can the machine move faster than 9600? if not why go 115.2k? In my experience the faster baud rate only leads to buffer overload if your having a pissing contest with haas good luck.
Joe
I don't have mx3 post but kindly help yourself its not that hard to change the post in pro.
Joe
pro-e can do anything but as others stated it's all about what you feel comfortable with. Mastercam is really good never let me down on 3d.
Joe
To be honest with you though,
We have people apply that say they're operators and can't read Mic's or a blueprint it's hard to hire someone like that so get you're skills up make sure you know every...
All I have to say is southern AZ is doing fine in machining right now If I could find someone with a mechanical aptitude and good work ethic they would get hired for at least 12.00/hr If they new...
I would recommend asking the customer if you can use 303 instead 304 is a pain it the a** use 150-200 sfm strong coolant or good air blast on inserts it work hardens so fast it blows everything up...
I agree who cares about frequency testing I want to discuss real world machining with people that do it.
Joe
see, you better make a good relationship with the anodizer, one of my good friends is my local anodzer and fellow harley rider he could hook me up with blue or red or orange chips if I needed it....
I LOVE THIS HOBBY,I bought a MATSUURA 510V FOR 4000.00 PUT A COUPLE OF RELAYS IN IT AND I HAVE A REAL CNC MAKNG PARTS GO FOR IT?????????? IF YOU TAKE A CHANCE SOMETIMMES IT WORKS YOU CAN'T GO WRONG...
geof,
did you take those chips from the drill press and throw them in the mini mill.
I've worked with a dozen mini mills and never seen those type of chips. not even in aluminium:withstupi
The problem is with a 2 stroke you lose half the combustion through the exhust which includes half the fuel/air mixture so for emmisions its not too feasable. Thats why they have expansion chambers...
good
In 304 I would go 2000 rpm 100mm/min if your rpm is too fast you will work harden the material and burn the drill up. 304 isn't that much fun to machine.
Joe
You could try moving your leveling screws I think that is whats wrong with my machine I have a matsuura with big ways but I think it setteled since I put it on the ground??
Joe
That is a great story. The ingenuity of an American to want to fly. I think I will submit this to mythbusters.
Joe
I think they already did it and It wasn't plausible?
I guess there hasn't been alot of thought in high speed machining since 2004?
Joe
use analyze/surfaces/set norms make sure all the arrows are pointing up. It tells mc what side of the surface you want to machine. (in layman's terms).
Joe
edit pick the surfaces and it will show...
Inserts have a sweet spot for doc either below the screw or above it. If you get above the screw you will definitely need an air blast I recommend an air blast on steel as Geof said coolant is hard...
I had the same problem on one machine I was cutting in x axis I changed to Y axis and it solved the problem. Im guessing the gibs on the side of the spindle are worn out on my machine.
Joe
You are right if you learn how to garden and you don't plant any plants you end up hungry?
Joe
Ian, That was brutally honest and the point I've been trying to make the whole time I've been posting on here. Step up and do what you can try hard to make something of yourself and learn everything...
I guess in the land of OZ you don't have to worry about global economics. Thats what we used to think in America.

The problem I have is I know the dean of machine tool technology at my local cc, and he hasn't been in a machine shop in 20 years. I'm sure he reads up on modern machining practices but he has no...
The problem is unfortunately you need a teaching certificate to teach at a cc. If they let someone who knew something in (Which most of us don't have a certificate or even a bachelors degree) to...
