Did you find a solution to your problem? I'm trying to figure out a similar issue with how post processor outputs my 5-axis tool paths.
I figured it out for anyone that runs across this post. Make sure you JOG the axis off of zero. Then double press the direction in ZERO RETURN.
Having the same problem.
This is the first Siemens controller I've used and are having a few issues. It's a Siemens 840D on a Spinner U-620. I'm doing a porting type toolpath that is tied to rotate around a point. The way my...
It's a 2 inch long flat at a diameter of 3.5in then it transitions to an offset boss. Almost every surface that is flat comes out with some kind of wave to it. We've had Okuma apps in here and so far...
We have a Okuma tech here right now in fact. Let me fill you in on our mess. We got the B300W about a year and a half ago. Everything was great and everyone was happy for the first 3 months. We did a...
hahaha training? I have some books but all I've found so far was a small section about program buffer size and that doesn't help me.
I have a program with a lot of 3d surfacing and it wont fit in the memory buffer. I know there is a way to run from the hard drive but I've never done this before and the boss is all over me because...
After receiving basically no help from our local Okuma tech guy I'm resorted to come here. I'm trying to turn a 5.25in diameter 28in long inconel shaft. I clamped a dead center into the sub spindle...
I'm drilling then boring a taper with a Sandvik 880 drill. I have the drill set as tool 9 so the drill cycle calls up T0909. At the end of the cycle I use T0900 to cancel the offset then call up...
I'm looking for a way to hold a 4.15 ID that is 7inches in lenth. I want to clamp onto 4inches of the ID. So far I found a ATS chuck for a lathe with an ID collet that will work but then I'd have to...
Well the problem I'm having is it doesn't seem to work the same way... I asked one of the other guys in the shop and he came over and said "it's easy.....oh.....why doesn't this one work that way?"
I have a program that will not fit in the limited memory(16KB I believe) in our MV-40. I can't find the manual for the machine anywhere. On our newer mori i would use the tape mode which has more...
Thanks a lot man. I knew there had to be a better way. I'll give it a try on Monday and I'll let you know how things went.
I'm using the probe to find the location of a hole. There are 3 features that use the same hole as a datum but they all have different critical Z depths. What I'm doing now is probing the hole three...
This one has a max RPM of 20,000. In the manual it says you can run 20,000 for 30 minutes and 16,000 continuously. Coolant is recommended and it talked about prolonging the life of the unit and to...
The Capto system is becoming popular as well. We just got a Okuma Multus and it has a C6 spindle. I've used Capto before on mills and noticed a big difference with rigidity and runout compared to a...
Anyone use a Big Kaiser spindle speeder? We have a BCV40-GTG5-10-155-65 and we've been having problems with ours. We are running it on a Mori Seiki MV-40 every 6 minutes for a total of 82 seconds at...
Thanks a lot!! That should save me about 1.5 minutes on my program just by cutting that out. Now if I could only cut out the stupid customer approval time and start rolling. I still haven't cut any...
That's what I thought but it's not on the G code list. I'm new to this machine and controller so it might work even without being on the list.
Okay and how do I get it to return to the X1.5 after it drills?
I'm running a Multus B300-W and am new to the work of OSP controllers. Currently I've been relying on Mastercam for a lot of the code until I get familiar and comfortable with some of the differences...
Well I have 103,922,341.1 hours of experience on CAM programs. I've used every version of MasterCAM, EdgeCAM, CAMworks, SolidCAM, BobCAM, GibbsCAM, and AwesomeCAM. I have a special program I've...
Figured it out. There was a tool that was in the magazine that wasn't numbered. The machine went to put the tool back in what it thought was an empty pocket but I detected a holder there.
Okay working away and I had to stop the program. I went around back and got a holder out of the magazine and put a new one in. Came back around and went to sequence restart. Came up with the tool...
IT WORKS!!! Thanks a lot!!!! M84 M64 G0 W50. Did it.
I've basically come down to closing the two chucks. Having an M00 and then manually opening the chuck and moving W back at the same time. If I program it to move back and open at the same time (M84...
Thanks guys for all your help. I found the little toggle switch in the electrical cabinet. Of course it's a little tiny silver switch. Why don't they make a huge red toggle switch and write out the...
My wonderful boss bought me a Multus. I'm trying to transfer from Chuck 1 to Chuck 2. Chuck 1 is a collet chuck(not dead length or true length). Chuck 2 is a 3 jaw. I have a casting that is 2.1in...
