As I typed above, #15, means that the RD controller is receiving 24v DC power ok,
and #13 means there is a fault in the system somewhere, likely internally to the controller, not externally.
You...
P.S. as far as 'blinking lights' or LEDs go... here's the English translastion from me:
Turn the controller on. LED #15 lights up - that is good - means there's 24volts dc power in it. If it is...
I use the LAN/Ethernet lead only - but you have to assign a static IP address (you can make it up- eg 195.56.1.100) & gateway (255.255.255.0) to the controller. The PC and controller would not...
I had exactly the same problem mid job. "connecting to controller" and it fails & reboots, and repeats.
Leds #3 & 15 are lit when it squeals.
Ouch!
Thanks for the repeated warning !
Thanks. Actually I looked at our big Chinese flatbed, and the drives are all 3-phase stepper signalled (U,V,W), whereas the X & Y on the ULS are 2-pole steppers (A+, A-, B+, B-) so I can't convert...
[QUOTE=MikeSinclair;2440283]Update: I built a small switch and holder (4 Pole, double throw, 4PDT)
Hi Mike, I have an old ULS M-300 with rotary, and the RF tube is dying, but I need to get some ...
Just to update this topic, the top bearing centre part cracked today - not bad I guess for 9 years' solid work...
Maybe I should have taken them out for a fresh clean & grease 3 or 4 years ago?...
Haha. Consider 2nd hand though... and it depends on the size you're considering. And shed space. I saw a cnc plasma cutter the other day that was portable. A cantilevered double gantry of a sort on...
I'd like a controller with ethernet connection to the PC, AND an on-board keypad/joystick at the router, to allow you to edit speeds, plate height etc from the console, like the laser Ruida systems....
I'm interested too! Richauto is USB only...
Can you run it with RDworks - is it a Ruida controller?
Exactly- RF tubes can switch on and off far more rapidly, so can engrave accurately at far faster speeds than CO2 lasers with their high-voltage low current tubes and PSUs.
Yours is a great question!
We have an Esab that was born in 1989, so it's 30 years old. Not quite as big as yours- 16 ft rails, and it can rout around a 2 metre wide piece.
It was retrofitted in...
compare the rated voltage of the z motor with the actual supply voltage, perhaps.
That spanner looks like one you'd undo a chuck with...
Great buys...!
Sorry- my sense of humour: Fleabay, Evilbay...it masquerades as many things: E-bay:

Impact... how does your total cost- laser + freight & duties - compare with similar lookalikes on Fleabay, if you don't mind me asking?
It all depends on what sort of learning curve you want, and your level of patience...
If it's to go straight to work, with fewest headaches, and simplest software, I'd recommend...
Yes, but... the inkjet printer comes with 'starter inks' i.e. cartridges that are only 1/4 to 1/3 full, not completely full ones.
Corel Draw X3, with E-cut, and Enroute 4.
Photoshop CS2 & 5.
I like them, and they've kept me in business a long time- been using Corel since version 2.
Thanks, Chris,
I ended up buying a 2M415 & two 2M542's... they're due to arrive in 2 weeks. I already have the Ruida RDG6442G controller that I bought to put in the other laser, so I 'll try that,...
Thanks for the reply - our Goldenlaser software is of 2011 vintage... and yes, it crashes too - I've learned to use the software only as a printer driver, and not for any editing or file creation.

Wow!
Tech support in Australia is negligible as far as I know - however I'm the third owner of the machine - left to learn it on my own, and service it as well - but we're running it under Win7.
I...
Did you solve it?
Or get another controller and keypad?
Yes, thanks, that's the only way...
I've bought a Ruida RDG6442G controller & console/keypad, to install when I get the chance... but for the moment the machine is working well at cutting 20 & 25mm...
Try unplugging and replugging all leads out of the RFC6442G... that's all I can think of.
Or try asking on the Ruida Facebook group or the Ruida forums.
If you're used to a Trotec... you mightn;t like the Chinese one at all!
But I wish you well - there's still an adjustment curve, to the software, and the procedures, but you'll handle it OK!

Hi Folks, I've posted this elsewhere and received one main suggestion that it's not really worth the effort to rekit a good Universal laser frame, with Chinese workings, compared with just buying the...
