sotos: IMHO that's a band aid and won't fix the real prob. I'd Email the folks at Syil and walk them thru the prob and get them to offer you the real fix.

Remove the cover at the top of the machine that has the yellow lightning bolt sticker on it, and you'll see the other end of that plug there...

I believe that connector is under the panel at the top/rear of the column. It has 4 phillips screws to remove (on mine anyway). You have to feed that long wire set up under the column rear panel and...

Ok, Got my mill last week.
Got a quatech PC parallel card in hopes it'd connect w/my laptop.
Called tech support after initial no-joy.
Spoke w/David (I think?) who walked me thru the wire hookups...

Brian, Don't feel alone. I've had mine a week and the table hasn't moved .001 yet ;)

I'm not the sharpest crayon in the pack, but I'd like to have thought I could hook this up and make it go...

Havn't got it hooked to the computer (connection issues I hope to resolve within a couple days).

I thought that the machine itself was supposed to go up to 3600 spindle speed since all the new...

How do I go about speed changes other than the up/down arrows on the touch pad?

My Sx3 currently only goes from 80-1500 based on the LCD Tach on the head.

I've actually had pretty good retun on a cheap import drill press and a regular pencil (eraser side down ;) ) and use valve grinding compound.

Sewell had it for $99 +$5 shipping.

I specifically bought the laptop in advance expecting to be able to run the programming I needed and the CNC all from one...

I've got a $800 laptop and a $6k mill that won't talk together. Now I have to get another entire computer that absolutely wasn't...

my laptop doesn't have the needed big archaic parallel port required to connect to the X3.

I'm running a 1.8ghz 1g ram 1 year old Toshiba laptop and I can't connect.
