Do ya know if their collets are close enough to be able to use more than one, and still use the same tool offset?
Or are there collets one-offs?
oh, thanks for the replies.....
Are there any alternatives to purchasing an R8 to TTS collet from Tormach?
$39.95 seems really steep for a simple R8.....
Hello,
did you get the Lichuan motor and drive? how is it working out?
I'm contemplating Lichuan for all 3 axes on a benchtop conversion.
thanks.
I agree with PeterW. Disable the drive and it should quit singin'. Don't drop power, especially to the encoder, and you won't loose position. Careful if you have a vertical axis. Vertical axes...
Looking for a CF or SD adapter card? Try Mesanet. They have several. Inexpensive too.
I have a similar setup. Very good system. Don't be too cheap on the computer, though.
you will find the tuning to be pretty tricky. there are 2 pid loops to deal with. the yaskawa internal one...
Try 'Machine Design' by Shigley. any edition.
No offense taken. I myself am either a smartass or a cynic...or both.
Anyway, the referenced book sounds interesting. I may try to budget it in.
In the mean time, I am not into becoming a...
Thanks for the interest. The question is a serious one. I, like many others, would like to build a benchtop mill. The design portion is fairly straight forward. The controls are also fairly easy,...
A very basic question for the machine builder. How square does a machine structure need to be? And how does one build it square?
A standard 3 axes machine (cnc or manual) needs 3 orthogonal...
