    Re: Newbie

It depends on what are your goals are…
If it’s just to learn or for fun or you intend to invest time and money in prototyping and commercial use…
If to learn and fun then get a used cheap printer...

    Re: NPN Proximity Switch Wiring

I’ve used control cable from Homedepot. It is multi stranded and shielded. They have two, three and 4 conductors …
The first photo I’ve sent actually shows Z axis on the right.

    Re: NPN Proximity Switch Wiring

It actually slides over the sensor, you should check at what distance it triggers reliably before mounting.

    Re: NPN Proximity Switch Wiring

Yes, the sensors are big but there is no problem mounting them.
The one on the left is for X axis and the one on the right is for Z axis.
I use them to home all axis.

    Re: NPN Proximity Switch Wiring

The box is a pullup resistor.
You need it to keep output high.
    Usually it is 10k resistor.
You can use diodes to tigh all outputs you want to combine , they would act as check valves, to one...

    Re: Eding CNC Help Please

You can integrate optocouplers if you want… but it would complicate the schematic for you.
What software do you use with this card?

    Re: Eding CNC Help Please

The manual said that you need negative signal to trigger your input
On the i/o chart it would be pins #18, 24, 25 ( they call them Ground)
Attach the wire to any of these pins and to your switch...
  13. Re: Is there a single-line, connected-text font in SHX,SHP,LFF format?

In Vectric software there are some single line fonts and there are a way to connect the letters in to continuous single line.
And one can create tool path there or export in to DFX…
    They have Demo...

    Re: Eding CNC Help Please

Your digital input is waiting for a signal. You need to know what signal it waits for. If it waits for negative then you wire negative through the limit switch to the input on the board.
    If you...
  15. Re: Problem with none of the axis moving and router spinning straight away

Google your motion board or check YouTube on Mac3 settings.
You never mention on voltage powering your steppers, do the drivers get power?
In Mach3 settings go to Ports and pins, there is a table...

Re: How do I add several stl files in v-carve pro?

There are plenty of programs : Blender, FreeCad, Fusion360, Corel3D, SolidWorks, Simmens3D, Kompas3D etc.
You prep all your models in a single .stl file and then import it in to v-carve. You have to...
  17. Re: Problem with none of the axis moving and router spinning straight away

The reason to use two parallel ports is to have more i/o ports.
It looks like the upper one is for steppers and the lower one for pendant.
The USB ports on the motion boards don’t support Memory...

Re: 5x10 Chinese Router with Issues

I would lower gantry as much as possible as long as you cutting only sheets of plastic and spread Y bearing blocks apart more ( you would lose some table space)
That’s a lot of leverage on the...

Re: 5x10 Chinese Router with Issues

Have you check Z axis. It could flex forward-back more than left-right and it might look as it has Y axis deflection.
I would set micrometer against cutter and push spindle by hand to see how much...
  20. Re: 220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

It is possible to run 3 ph motor in a single phase with capacitors.
Just wouldn’t get as efficient as 3 ph
  21. Re: 220v Chinese motor both hot leads need to be 220v?

It is not USA standard, they probably have a 380V star with grounded zero- that would give them 220V between each leg and grounded zero.
There is nothing wrong if you hook it up to 240V in US (...

  23. Re: Wiring Config on a JP-3163b board to the A131NBC-8015

If you VFD controlled by 0-10V and you supply it with PWM signal how do you expect it to work?
You need to get a controller that supplies 0-10V or a converter that converts PWM signal in to 0-10V....
  24. Re: Hello from new member and problem with drivers and motors

If you post schematic or good photos someone would direct you how to hook it up and what to expect on...
  25. Re: Looking for 3D CAD and CAM software recommendations

  28. Re: 4th Axis, help find an alternative to Fusion 360

Vectric Desktop is about $360, Vectric Vcarve Pro about $600 and Vectric Aspire is about $2000 and they allowed to have it on 3 computers for one user.
It is CAD/CAM software vs DeskProto is only...
  29. Re: 4th Axis, help find an alternative to Fusion 360

If you work mostly with wood and plastic.
I would recommend Vectric Aspire. They have different options to buy and its yours without claud.
I use it for several years now and it has all I need....

Re: Help adding XYZ probe to old router
