  1. EasyFix Sleeves but Shorter for Double Boring Bar Holder?

Hey. I was wondering what the best alternative is for EasyFix Sleeves/Collets when you´re limited length-wise. Let's say I have a double boring bar holder that's 70mm wide. That would limit me to...
  2. Re: Mazatrol Matrix Nexus - Error 380: Tool Check Not Complete

Interesting. Good to know that it can be turned off.

Our solution was to simply use the suffixes/ID codes that the macro needed. A, B, C for back-facing tools. D, E, F for forwards tools.
  3. Matrix Nexus - MANL PRG Restart - Spindle Stops

Hello. I got this problem when I try to restart from a MANL PRG unit, the spindle doesn't start. It works fine when I start from the unit before it. Removing the G96 (Constant surface speed control...
  4. Matrix Nexus - Setting a Tool Load Limit?

Hello. I was wondering if it's possible to set a tool load/torque limit for each tool? So for instance, let's say my roughing WNMG tool is sitting at 30% spindle load I know something went wrong if...
  5. Mazatrol Matrix Nexus - Error 380: Tool Check Not Complete

So this is a bit of a shot in the dark since not even the Mazak tech guys had any clue what this is but here it goes.

We bought a 2011 Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 250-II MS from Germany. Don't know...
  6. Mazatrol Matrix Nexus - Cant Transfer Program from USB

Hello once more. Sorry for spamming the forum lately but I'm just having one problem after the other with this new Mazak machine. Now I cant transfer a program from USB. I go to DATA I/O - USB and I...
  7. Alarm 1393 : R.D. Relocation Detected - Can't Even Open Door?!

Hi, again. Our Mazak QT Nexus 250-II MS finally arrived but apparently, there is this relocating device that we need to unlock with a code. The problem is this code may not be delivered in the next...
  8. Mazatrol Matrix Nexus - Sub-spindle and bar feeder code examples?

Hi. We just bought a Mazak QT Nexus 250-II MS with a sub-spindle and multifeed bar feeder. It's from 2011 and it should come in some time in the next couple of weeks. I just have some basic questions...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Bit of an optical illusion there. It's actually clamping on the hat about 4 mm deep.

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

But we are not actually clamping on the thin walls. As I said before we are not allowed to do that because we found out the hard way what happens when we do. The part that we clamp on is the "hat"...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Well, obviously the photo that I shared is what we are doing now. The CAD image that I shared is what I'm thinking about doing instead. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

You mean the runout of the...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

    Correct.

Not a bad idea, honestly. I'll have to think about that one. Still doesn't fix the issue with multiple setups, tho, and if someone else is gonna run the parts we better use a torque...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

BTW. Just for ****s and giggles. This is what the chuck key looks like after about 200 of these damn parts. I think I must've gone thru about 10 of these poor things by now. :D

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Yes, I have checked them out. Maybe ill send them an email and see what they recommend.

Yes, I have and I, as a mill-guy, agree that it would be better to do it that way. Problem is the lathe-guys...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Just to clarify what I'm trying to do I made a rough cad sketch. The idea is to have a tapered screw that expands the collet to hold the part. Do you think this will work or no?

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

I see. Wouldn't that put a force on the thin walls tho? These parts are very delicate and if they're out of round by just 0.01mm it's a scraped part. Maybe I'm missing a way to clamp them where it...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Yeah, I've tried that. Problem is it either pulls the part out on the way in or if you go the other way then it pulls the part on the way out. Not sure which scenario is better but both are a...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a stub arbor? Do you have a link to a seller or some other resource that could point me in the right direction? I'll admit workholding is one of the...

    Re: ID Expansion Clamps?

I guess I can share a photo of my setup. The main issue is during milling operations the radial forces sort of "suck" the part out of the jaws. Drilling is usually fine.

    ID Expansion Clamps?

Hello. I've got a problem with workholding at work. The parts we make are mostly hydraulic chucks. That means thin walls that we are not allowed to clamp on due to deformation. Our solution so far...
  21. Re: Haas - Get active radius offset possible?

Humm. That sounds a bit sketchy, to be honest. And what happens if the radius is bigger than 10?
  22. Re: Haas - Get active radius offset possible?

Right, that makes sense. I wonder tho how #3201-#3400 works in radius mode. The manual states specifically that it is the diameter of the tool where #2401-#2800 says diameter/radius. Maybe it's a...
  23. Haas - Get active radius offset possible?

Hi, again. I was wondering if there is a simple way to access the active radius offset. I know there are the variables #2401- #2600 but this doesn't help me if I don't know which one is currently...
  24. Re: High-Speed Machining for Macros? Yay or Nay?

I have not. I don't think corner rounding would make a big difference since there are no sharp corners in the tool path. Maybe using P1(rough) would tho? I'll try it next time I get a chance.
  25. Re: High-Speed Machining for Macros? Yay or Nay?

Right. I forgot about the trial thing. I tried it today but it only reduced the time by 4s (83s to 79s). That's only a 5% reduction if my math is right. The tool I'm using is a small backside chamfer...
  26. Re: Haas - 506 Macro Statement Syntax Error

Right you are. I got it mixed up with Mach3. My bad.
  27. High-Speed Machining for Macros? Yay or Nay?

As the title suggests. Is it worth it? We almost never use CAM at work, 99% of the parts we make are just too simple to justify it. Although, I do use a lot of macros that result in a lot of tiny G01...
  28. Re: Haas - 506 Macro Statement Syntax Error

Apparently, it is not. I assumed that Haas uses the same functions as Fanuc but it appears that Haas doesn't even have a power function. Anyway, christinandavid´s soluiton works in this case.
  29. Haas - 506 Macro Statement Syntax Error

Hello. I'm trying to make a macro for deburring holes on a curved surface. This means I need to use the Pythagorean theorem to calculate the Z coordinate. This is what I tried so far:

    #10003=...

    Re: OmioCNC report

Turns out I had the wrong manual (TH60-K6 instead of AH60-XX80M-10). I contacted Omio and got the right settings. Now it works!
