    Selecting the correct power supply

It has been a bit since I have been on here. My "Skubarouter" I built has machined its first 44gallon trashcan of aluminum/brash shavings. I haven't had much of an issue other than inputs vibrating...

  3. Re: Hitachi Wj200 and 2.2kw spindle unsteady RPM

Well it seems like my voltage fluctuates on the analog side. For instance, I'll be running a speed where voltage is 5.50 and it will drop to 5.48 and up to 5.58. So I'm seeing a fluctuation by .1...
  4. Re: Hitachi Wj200 and 2.2kw spindle unsteady RPM

    I'll have to check that.

I'm still extremely curious about using auto tune and Sensorless vector mode which is why I purchased. Any ideas

    Re: Skuba Router

Well so far, I have to be quiet about it because my plan is to make a product.

BUT. I did turn my router into a measuring system using a Haimler. I put a stock in my vise and measured all the...
  6. Hitachi Wj200 and 2.2kw spindle unsteady RPM

I have a wj200 and I have basically set the initial settings for the motor. I haven't messed with auto tune or Sensorless vector etc. Just the plain Jane settings and it's ran, for the most part, ok...

    Re: Skuba Router

Machine has been great for the thousand plus parts it has ran. I upgraded the drive system to using idlers and it seems to run a bit smoother and now it's whisper quiet.

    Producing some gun stocks...

Re: timing belt or screw? cost vs precision

I use timing belts to turn my balls crews. I machine mainly aluminum and cuts are really clean. Especially on a router

  9. Re: Large CNC Router for Steel & Aluminium - BELT DRIVE SPINDLE and other questions

Denis. Following the datron concept you will see they use high frequency spindles. For budget purposes you can get about 24000 rpm.

This is also very crucial in a router due to rigidity. Datron...
  10. Re: Large CNC Router for Steel & Aluminium - BELT DRIVE SPINDLE and other questions

I haven't attempted steel because I have all my steel sent out to machine shop and done on heavy duty lathe or vmc. This machine is for non ferrous prototyping in my home

  11. Re: Large CNC Router for Steel & Aluminium - BELT DRIVE SPINDLE and other questions

Awesome to see another person wanting to do more than wood with their router! I built one and finished up last year.

I've been machining lots of aluminum and brass parts. I run probably 4 hour...

Re: Correct Hitachi VFD? Chinese Spindle?

I purchased the wj and I'm extremely happy. My motor seems to run quieter as well.

It's probably a third or closer to half the size of the hyuanyang. My hy had all the decals for pin out upside...

    Re: Shaft coupling

OK so I can either go with Ryland style spider jaw coupling or Disc type coupling for about 1.5 times the price. I'm OK with price difference but want probably what's best.
