Can you bore it out to .688" and rethread to 3/4-16?
I could not find a better description of someone with a lot of guts, a man who can and will do everything and anything but nothing right. Some credit is due.
Speicher Loeschen = delete memory.
Does NOT mean the memory is lost.
More info would be helpful.
We use a tap!
Can not think of any new US made manual Grinders. Many years ago we replaced our 1 1/2 Abrasive with Gardner 12" manual. That was a good choice. Don't think they are still in business. However we had...
bbulich - you have a 5/8-10 thread? Odd size. Not 5/8-11?
What you are looking for is the hole size? Nom. dia. minus pitch. In your case .625 - .100 = .525 hole size.
If it turns out to be 5/8-11...
Benwis - New to metric? Your tolerance is 10H7 (+0/+15) - period. Buy a new standard 10H7 reamer. It will cut +6/+12.
No need to convert to +/- or to inches. It will just screw you up. Centerdrill,...

You can find all the spec's here: Alloy Bonded TiC - Titanium Carbide Manufacturing Questions :: Ferro-TiC SBC
Ferro - TIC can be machines with standard metal cutting machines and tools. Finish complete and Heat treat. It will not change in HT.
Either buy "Machinable Carbide" and have it heat treated or use Wire EDM.
Custom Engineered Titanium Carbide Parts and Components :: Ferro-TiC SBC
In a case where the dowel pin holes need not to be hard or where we would worry about distortion in heat treating (case hardening), we lay out the approx. position of the holes and use a dap of a...
It is M2.5 x 5.6mm long. M2.5 has a pitch of 0,45mm (standard coarse). ANSI screwed up. No pitch is given for standard coarse. Only in the US would people have a people have a problem. If you would...
You need a DIN 103 / ISO 2901, 02, 03, 04-1977 in English. I don't think there is a 3-wire measurement available. You may also need to know the required tolerance field.
Anything in your (new) MH?...
If the gage says M10 than that is always standard coarse. It is the coarsest thread available for M10. If you see a thread M10 x 1 than that is metric fine. The whole world designates metric (coarse)...
Second that.Juergen
M21 x 1 - 6g
Max OD = 20.974
Min OD = 20.794
Max P dia = 20.324
Min P dia = 20.206

Min Root dia = 19.590
Tolerance for Metric Fine Thread M21 x 1 is 4h, 6g or 8g. Google "Maryland Metrics"" for info.

Are you using a home made reamer? If so, whoever made it did not know how to make a reamer. Look in your Machinist Handbook under "Irregular Spacing of Reamers" or "Reamers - Irregular Spacing"....
My advise - Stay with wood. Have an experienced Metal worker do it for you on his equipment.
Just what are you trying to do? Prussian Blue will only tell you where the two parts are making contact. If you are trying to check a taper - you must be able to insert the male (blued) taper and...
Blue the "Master" lightly and evenly. Insert and twist with firm pressure. Pull out and lock. You will see exactly where it is making contact and where not. Don' try to look on the inside of a taper....
I hope you are posting this as a learning tool for beginners and not as some new technology. Our Grandfathers used tapping heads. Google "Procunier".
Look into vacuum forming.
Reminder to all: Don't get carried away on hand scraping. I doubt if anybody sells a lathe that is completely hand scraped to a master. Most likely what you will get is a ground surface with a...
Widia = Carbide.
What material are you cutting? Use what ever you would use for a gen. use carbide grade.
Introduced in 1933 by Krupp. Wi -dia meaning in German is "wie diamant" like diamond.
I second that.
Handlewanker you have some good points. Experience counts. However I do not agree with the "English way" of cutting a thread which btw. is also used in Germany. They like to feed straight IN and move...
