What type of bearing are you using on the supported end of the threaded rod?
It would be very helpful if you supplied a diagram of your BOB connections. Did you supply 12V to the BOB, how? Did you connect to the 0-10V output and not the 0-5V?

I built this router to take a half sheet of wood using fence post rails for the X and Y axis and gas pipe for the Z axis. I will post videos later....
It sounds like the router has a critical speed where it starts vibrating vigorously. It's a point of resonance of the rotating shaft.
Very creative. Once you get everything square, you can drill and tap holes through the fittings and pipes and put a bolt in. That way you can still take it apart if needed.

Can you explain the advantage of using the profile for the Z axis as opposed to using a plate?
It looks like the these USB controllers can also use an external source of DC power so the LAPTOP USB doesn't have to provide it.
I am contemplating doing just this due to limited shop space. My procedure would be to build it flat first to get everything lined up then turn it on it's side. As long as it is ridged enough then I...
Great job. What is that in between the bearings? What belt are you going to use? Are you going to hang the motor below or above the level of the pulley?
Looking at the pivot point for the pinion and spring location, I can't see how you can maintain tension on the timing belt from the motor.
As long as you're thinking along that route, there are some SD modules available with built in BT. They are used for cameras but they could prove usefull for CNC use.
I'm thinking that since this is only for pipe then a simple unistrut fixture could work. The pipe would be supported on one end inside a stepped aluminum cup with steps for each sized pipe. It would...
Did you actually look at these specs? Some of these will easily handle a kilowatt or more. Much more than 1HP.
The site says that this will handle 1/4 and 1/2 in routers. How many amps will it handle?

Sounds cool. What amps, volts and prices are we talking about.
That is the one I have. I have run it at 30krpm with no problem. I haven't had to do more than hand tighten yet, but I have had to use the wrench to loosen.
I bought this one on EBAY from WIDGET for less than 16 USD.

It works great. Just have to watch that the ring doesn't rub on your work.
Try the MX slatwall at http://www.diamondlifegear.com/products.htm.
They have a smooth one in panels from 2x4 to 4x8.
Instead of using a grub screw, could you leave the ends square, cut a slot, and use compression?http://cnczone.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif
Sorry, my mistake about www.sharpcnc which also makes machines. So what is SHARPECNC.COM? Is it a scam?

You've got that right. I have had several problems with software on Windows 7 because the couldn't find the port (LPTx, usb, serial etc). Once the software was updated (after numerous complaints) it...
Computer problems like this are difficult to diagnose without actually seeing the equipment set up. But you said "2) Taken out SDRAM (256 MB, PC133), cleaned its strip with white paper, also celaned...
Sometimes during a power outage, the operating system gets garbled on the hard drive. This usually requires a reinstall of the operating system and then restoring from your back up (you do have back...
Any reason the spindle can't be a block instead of a cylinder? Just for my edification.
He never mentions anything about positioning.
