  1. Re: Ghosting effect while cutting - duff laser?

Changed the laser for the Ten-High one, immediately better! And lucky old me didn't even have to redo the alignment, it was right on.

    Cheapo laser = rubbish!

    Cheers

  2. Re: Ghosting effect while cutting - duff laser?

I imagined it would be the case. I've gone for a Ten-High laser tube as a replacement, it comes with the wires attached so hopefully won't be a hassle to fit. If nothing else I will have a back up. I...
  3. Ghosting effect while cutting - duff laser?

Guys, pretty sure I know the answer to this, but can you take a look at the pictures below? Essentially, at anything above engraving power on my K40 clone I get a ghosting effect clearly visible on...
  4. Need to purchase the CNCUSB software for a 3040 router

  5. how to move view toolbar in Fusion 360

Guys, the view toolbar is at the bottom of the screen, and it is not a place that suits me at all, not least due to the windows taskbar autohide. However no matter what I do it won't let me drag it...
  6. Re: Recommendations for CAD program for someone used to Solidworks

just found Fusion 360 on my PC and opened it up. It says 'term expired' and will not open any of the Solidworks files, so if there is no way to address this Fusion 360 won't help me

    ***EDIT****...

  8. Recommendations for CAD program for someone used to Solidworks

    Hi guys

I understand the very subjective nature of this request, but nonetheless I need to find a more modern program to replace my venerable Solidworks 2008. It was given to me years back by...

Re: Some advice requested for a newcomer

Since I can't work with the laser (public holiday here so can't buy a replacement water pump) I decided to take a good look at the machine and see what else could be up. The K40Laser.se site provides...

Re: Some advice requested for a newcomer

Thanks, I did that, and found the height. Not that there was much difference in the width, it was pretty wide all the way along with a pinch in the middle at the focal point, but still wider than I...

Re: Some advice requested for a newcomer

It was definitely an alignment issue - but not quite how I thought. I had done the alignment of the mirrors per the lasergod's site instructions, and as mentioned got the laser to fire within a...

  17. Recommendations for CNC controller board upgrade

Guys, I have one of those cheap 3018 CNC engraving machines, which frankly is way better that I ever expected it to be for the price. However the one recurring issue I have with it concerns the buggy...
  18. Re: good quality 20 degree engraving bits

    Thanks for the tips.

I have to say that I will have to get a handle on the bed levelling, Universal Gcode sender can do it but I haven't worked out how yet.

    Cheers

  19. Re: good quality 20 degree engraving bits

I'm open to any suggestions as to how to stop it happening - I am using very light feeds and cuts (400mm/min, 0.02mm depth increments), and the cutter RPM is the max that my setup can do (about 6500...
  20. good quality 20 degree engraving bits
