Not the same servo but similar set up. Did you find a way to control the spindle with m3sxxx command? I see many tips with its easy use step/dir but no one thst shows free pics and give a full answer...

Just to conclude the thread. I have been using the harmonic drives a couple of times. I can confirm that it works fine. No backlash, with the 4 indipendent chuck you can 0 the runout and it does what...
Got the replacement. For the moment it seems without backlash, before I could swing it for like 5-6mm left and right. Fingers crossed.
EDIT: Here the video I was talking about
...
I think that was the problem. Now I am getting a replacement and by the video the supplier sent me there is not play anymore. Fingers crossed
I will report her eback if I get it solved somehow. Thx
yeh I am now asking all the shops selling this type if they can check their unit and see if they have the same problem. I hope by getting the reply from different sources will lead to the truth!...
Continuous cutting can be a solution in some case but forgot to mentioned, with gears I mean duoble helical gears and not simple spur gears. So I need the 4th axis to be able to move with a decent...
In bolted the reply to your thoughts. I think the only solution is returned. Still have to understand if I got a faulty unit or they are all like that.
Thanks for the help!
I pull itll it apart. The back lash is really from the harmonic drive. Now I do not know if I got a fautly one or if this type are all like this one

Hi! The post is mine! :-)

I made a video yesterday...
Yeh I know it should have almost no backlash but then i do not know what is the problem. Must have something wrong in the mechanical connection with the harmonic drive inside. I really want to use...
Others with this cheap harmoninc drive didn't mentioned such degree of freedom, they actually stated almost zero backlash. I think I got a fautly one. So lucky. I guess I will try to see if the...
I need for making small gear, it doens't have to go through heavy cuts. Based on what also reported in this forum this style of harmonic drive should have almost zero backlash. That why I wanted to...
Hello!
I have just received the harmonic drive. I read before and I was aspecting a gapless drive, with no backlash. Now I ma new to harmonic drive but if I try to move the chuck by hand it has a...
Hi!
At the end I purchased this type of harmonic drive. 1:50 reduction...
Hi! You probably do not have the harmonic drive anymore but I was wondering whether do you still recommend it. I was going to buy the same one you find on ebay. 1:50 or 1:100 still have to decide. I...
Hi! Did you end up buy the harmonic 4th axis. If yes may I know which one and if it working well? The more details you can give the better. I have few drives in the workshop already but not sure if...
Did you end up buy an harmonic 4th axis? I am looking to it at the moment. I plan to machine some helical and dual helical gears out of steel. I don't need it to be fast but sturdy and precise. I saw...
Hi! I read the all thread and since there are several options I would like to ask whether there is a more straight forward modification to speed up the spindle. Like a gear change to 1:1 (my motor is...
Yes apparently the factory is the correct one and that have the CNC version. I asked what the price is, but probably would be too much for my budget.

Nice machine. It's clear the difference with the bf20. Problem there is not CNC version and I need a machine to work with for on going project I have. I found it I guess from the factory in China....
I will check your thread then. Do you think 2700 for that machine CNC converted by a factory ecc is not worth it? I saw some nice machining project done with the BF20 and Grizzly G0704 which are...
Ah forgot to say the end mill size. I usually use 3.175mm end mill. Would like to use 6-8mm endmill too.

Yes I think you are right. That's why I will probably go with that one. The guy seems really nice. We are going to do some works together to check the machine first. I 5hink thst sub 3000 Euro there...
I will check Emco. thanks. What about the BF20L that I found locally? I read quite nice stuff about it. It was converted by the man himself https://einfach-cnc.de/bf20-version-2/ and everything is...
well actually all the machine will be shipped by boat and shipping cost are like 50$. Of course you have to add taxes on it. What about the BF20L that I found locally? In the proce everythign in...
Hi,
Little update I also got the possibility to get locally a second hand, almost new, Optimum BF20L CNC converted by a German company with ballscrews too. The machines looks really nice and I could...
Hi! It's Alessio. I am planning to buy a small CNC milling machine for my hobby work on electric skateboard. I build mainly brushless motor and other stuffs that require aluminium most of the time. I...
Hi! I was looking at the same CNC mill. Did you get it at the end or you foind something better for the money?
Thanks
