Re: Citizen L16 Custom Parameter Issues

#990, #991, & #992 = tool configuration for a newer L20. Looks like you need to see if you have the correct machine type chosen in PartMaker.

    Re: Constant high rpm?

MCImes is correct. Running small diameters at max rpm will make your day rough more often than not. I tend to max using G50 SXXXX when going at tiny diameters. You can make up the pennies...

    Re: threading at bar diameter

Thread roll will give you stronger and faster thread. It's only more expensive up front. You will make your ROI in time saved very fast. How much do you think you have spent trying to fix the...

    Re: Citizen M2-12 T4XXX problems

I personally would never run a machine with an X axis in Radius. If it has been changed from an M2 - M3, then i am guessing the internal macros that run in the background are not correct.

    Re: Thread Milling using macro

RCaffin is right on track, so long as your machine is set-up to use the R instead of the IJK. I have written Thread Mill Macros before at other jobs, but do not have anything with me that is proven...

    Re: Thread Milling using macro

Can you provide more info on needs? Macro programs can get hard to write, but once they are proven out, they are user friendly, if you write them to be. As far as efficient, Thread Milling is slow....

    Re: Citizen M2-12 T4XXX problems

Just a couple questions first off.

Do you have any values in the Preparation page / Diameter?
Have you done the Axis Zero for the X3 axis?
Was this machine converted from Metric specs to...

    Broken Tool Detection

We have a Mazak 500A 5 axis mill. We have the spindle probe and tool setter probe, but NOT the laser probe. Does anyone have a method of doing Broken Tool Detection on this? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR...
  14. Re: interpolated holes slightly smaller at bottom?

Also consider, when helical ramping thru hole, that the bottom of your tool will wear faster than the top. After a bit, you will see taper from this also. I'd throw in an extra tool just for...
  15. Re: CAV bar feeder/bar loader--part numbers?

Have you tried calling Citizen? Since it is their barfeeder, they should be able to assist you with this fairly simply

Have you tried using form taps? Chips are not an issue, and soooo much nicer. Give me a call if you can't get this. I'm assuming you are Kyle....heehee

Re: Trouble with simple G02 program

you can also use just 1 line of G2 to go across the entire radius. No need for tool point if not using G41/G42. Also, when using the G41/G42, keep in mind that G41 COMP LEFT is in regards to which...
  20. Re: Generate an alarm signal, during an improperly placed workpiece..!

What type of machines are you using? Do they have probes? If not, do they have capability to moniotr servo load? If you can probe, then macro a message to use #3000 to alarm machine out. Most...
  21. Re: Threading using G76 with a left hand tool

Re: Citizen M20 small part catching

In the past, when doing small washers, I have also had luck using a gauge pin in station 41,42,43 and using the air blast to shoot them onto it. So if the ID is .063", i would use a .060" pin and...

You may look in your control manual to see if you have an argument with G2/G3 that allows you to do conical pitch. Then it would be fairly straight forward.

Re: Good place to buy swiss lathe tooling

kennametal KM heads are great way to do faster change-overs. build a matrix and have tooling dialed in over a few set-ups.
  27. Re: Citizens vs Star Service and Support in Michigan and other concerns

I'd go with Citizen then. The L20 is a good machine. Make sure to get the CAV loader. Best suited for Citizens. If you don't mind, what kind of work are you guys into?
  28. Re: Citizens vs Star Service and Support in Michigan and other concerns

  29. Re: Citizens vs Star Service and Support in Michigan and other concerns

Nomura does have their swiss line at IMTS in the Gosiger booth. They are well built. The Mits control will be like the traditional ones, not the UI that you see on Citizens. Citizen does their own...
