Hi
Yes I have had similar experience.
When we filled in the gaps it was instantly noticeable the increase in suction.

Hi All
Just an update to say that we have implemented the fail safe on all 3 of our machines and all is now good. :)
The engineer took out the keyboard and basically looked at it, couldn’t find anything wrong with it and put it back. Believe or or not it’s been working since then.
Bizarre!

Completely agree. I have 3 identical machines.

The spindle needs air pressure to release the tool cone by pushing against spring pressure , imagine a clutch pencil. So I doubt it’s that and in any case you would have got a controller error saying...
Hi
Guess what!
We have the same issue with our newest machine which is only a few months old.
I am kind of wondering whether it could e a voltage fluctuation issue but really clutching at straws....
I think your right.
But effectively we’ve kind of done that albeit into the stop circuit.

Done that.
Had an electronics engineer look at it, he took the keyboard out and took it back to his workshop for testing. He came back a few hours later and said he could not find anything amiss...
You don’t have same spindle as us so I’m not sure how Mach air it takes. Did you specify the spindle?

As for wiring I’ve just tapped into a he emergency stop button on the controller.

Hi Yurtnam
Happy to share the files if it helps. Be aware that not all DT02 models are identical so the height of the plunger can be slightly different. I’ll send you a dimension drawing as well. ...
Hi
Looking for guidance from anyone who has experienced a similar problem with the Sytnec 6mb.
We have had this issue twice now with the same machine, its an Omni 1325 ATC and we have 3 of them....
Yes
I think your right.
So the system is flawed and not to an industrial standard. Ok for diy maybe but not in a production environment. ?

By the way.
To stop the future risk, I designed a fail safe which encompasses a micro switch linked into the stop circuit as the attached which we have 3D printed.
At least now I can sit at my...
Hi
Thanks for your input which is appreciated. I’m not sure what you are say so forgive me. Are you saying that the DT02 sensor is not suitable for the application intended?

It’s happening again.
You need to sort this Omni!
I have 2 machines that have the same issue. It can’t just be bad luck !

Hi,
Firstly, I’ve had my first machine over 3 years and this has a Syntec 6MD controller, my other newer machines have the 6MD version of the controller. I work with these, every day and I deal with...
Yes I tend to lean towards this possible problem. Will investigate and report back.

It’s a water cooled spindle.
I have carried out some further tests on the new spindle (machine 3) which included using a thermal imaging camera to record the spindle temperature, our findings...
It’s not fail safe at all.
Imagine the scene, a brand new machine wired and ready and the first time I do a tool set (with new batteries) the z axis doesn’t stop a totally wreck the spindle...
Maybe it’s just a faulty spindle
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, it’s now running all day long at 20000rpm
Hi
I think the simplest solution will be as follows:
1.lift the X gantry by use of packing shims.
2. Adjust the the z axis by the the amount you have lifted the gantry in the tool ATC setting...
I’m wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with the tool measure wireless sensor. I have 3 machines and all have failed to give a signal at some point. Results are catastrophic as you can...
Hi
Firstly the data sheet I posted I’ve had prior to the new machine arriving. I’m pretty sure they are all the same. Not sure how I would check to be honest. I can double check in the morning as...
Here is the spindle spec:

It’s water cooled.
I’ve took ohm readings as well, the thermistor is basically telling the controller that the temperature is too hot.
Here is my previous observation report to Omni:

Still discussing it with them, they say they are waiting answer from syntec which is delayed due to China’s new year. I don’t understand why it’s a thing to do with syntec but we shall see.
