Shawn,
Haas came and field installed the parts catcher on our st-30 last month.
I will get my camera and take some pictures tomorrow.
The box covers the hole in the door, and when you actuate...
Geof,
No...that might have come out wrong. 20 service calls over the 12 year life of the bar feeder, and 18 of them were one month or less after it was set up to stop a double push problem they...
Peter,
I have used a haas SL30 / 300 bar feeder for 11 years straight.
In short...yes I have had some problems. Nothing that I could't fix, design around ext.
It works far better on stock...
Luke,
Old to me is 6 months or more. I have never noticed the "bad" smell
I have heard others talk about. The coolant smells good when its first
charged in the machine...and if anything...it...
Luke,
I have used Trim 206 for 11 years.
Its usually mixed anywhere from 7% to 10% on a refractor.
When I machine aluminum I keep it lower...around the 7%.
Only problem I have ever had...
I have never done it to any specification....but its basically a 45 degree chamfer before threading to prevent crossthreading for anything that is taken apart and put together alot.
Pretty much...
Here is a company link that will grind a 3/4-18 tap for $22.70. It doesn't specify left or right....call them and find out if that price is for either..
...
Yes...they do. On my various CNC's...I work in either .nc or .tap files. Both are text and editable in notepad (when program is small enough...the 3D files get big!)
If you need them with .txt for...
Chris,
I do alot of engraving.
Will you be drag engraving...or milling the path?
Drag engraving works good on a surface that is uneven, like stock you will not be face milling and is left...
Rui,
Measure that bar that it alarmed out on. Then check the "Longest Bar" setting on the servo bar page in your control. Chances are, it is just a bit longer then your max bar length setting to...
Don't try something new when customer comes....Its sure to mess up!!
Having done a ton of ridgid tapping in the last 11 years on my haas...I can vouch for most of the stuff said here.
First...
Most welcome... :)
Merry Xmas to you and yours!!

I have never set the machine to Yasnac...
I left my machine as it came from factory and used the Fanuc setting.
From the lathe handbook...
"Type II, when Setting 33 is set to FANUC, must...
Are you using canned cycle to do this?
If so...haas has wierd ways when you want to do non standard
cycles. One way to fix this is to put it into Type II fanuc roughing.
(I think thats what its...
Bigspike,
I had never heard of tritools before you mentioned it.
I have used Generic Cadd since 1988, and still use it today.
The only program I know designed to act like it is from
General...
Don't know about a TL-1...
But I do know that if you buy the bar feeder with your lathe from haas,
spindle indexing is included. They do it so you can index the spindle for
hex stock bar...
I decided to try this on yer badge...for fun...
Take a look...not crisp and clean...but different
Ntww,
Are you looking to do a 3d badge, or do you just need a clean 2d vector
to vcarve?
Aspire can trace the photo to get a 2d vector, but it is highly dependant on lighting, clarity, color...
I have been using the 300 barfeeder for 10 years on my Sl-20.
I would have to say mine repeats within about .010 to .020 at the most.
The only time that it has every given me fits is when I...
Rmg21,
I have experience with the cncshark from rockler. I bought one 4 months ago.
It does a good job of recieveing the job, and running it without fail.
The only downside to it is a lack of...
Very happy. Bought ours in 1999, and it has only had 2 problems that went past my knowledge in 10 years. Used it yesterday and it clicked off 100 parts
in an hour, all within .001 or so.
File came through fine on igs import.
Will send a PM to you on more specific.
Its done by using a smaller stepover when routing. once you get above 8% or so stepover, it becomes more pronounced. The bigger stepover makes each part take less time to machine, but more time to...
I can't answer all of them...but here are a few answers worth my 2 cents..
The 12 k spindle still has metal bearings...I think the 15 k has ceramic.
I have the 4th 210 with tailstock and it...
The vector art free program is a scaled back program from vectric called
cut3d. As cut3d does NOT have text, I would assume the free version doesn't. I think it only lets you do the 3d models.

Having done a fair bit of deep boring...I tend to disagree on the 7-8 times depth on boring bars.
Most steel bars are good for 3x diameter in best condition. Carbide bars are
5x diameter. I...
Grats on getting your bar feed running..
I got an sl-20 bb about 10 years ago with the 300 bar feeder. I did have a bunch of issues with it in the first 6 months. It had a nasty habit of running x...
Hardcore,
I have what sounds like the same machine. Mine is 1999 sl-20 bb.
In the past I have machined the toolholders so I could push the tool away from the spindle (more in X) and it is the...
My distorted way of thinking.....
Bear in mind...I am thinking aspire...not v-carve..i think they are pretty simular in commands. I have not fired up vcarve since I got aspire.
Trace the od of...
