Hi fred..when i am touching off a drill, say T2222 on the cyclone,..does it matter whether im in absolute or incremental when i press " Z0" enter?

you might want to try a grooving insert....031 wide..use a holder from ISCAR that is used fro grooving/turning...and parting off...maybe try G96 for the angle so the chip load stays the same...

use the biggest endmill you can to do the "inscribed" circle...in this case .250...leaving .0035 all around so that your .062 dia endmill only cleans up. and yes g12.1... first do front.. then...
use a pin gauge in the er collet,..touch off to the bar stock in x and in y...do the math....for example...working with .500 dia barstock,..and a .250 dia drill/shank... use a .250 pin gauge in er...

drill and pin the bar stock to brass or aluminum 8 inch rods,....use all your good stock up
r u in the correct plane selection? x-z, y-z,.....G17, g18, or G19...that will make a difference

I'll second DCogswell, I run very small holes on swiss machines, and you can nevr go wrong with Guhring drill bits. The best. Pricey but it will save you headaches. Make sure you get a coated drill...
